Northern Ireland missing on country list

I tried adding it to includes/countries.php

and clearing the template cache

but it still doesn't appear in the dropdown list.

 

how do I add this missing country and get it to display ?

Why would you want to?

 

It comes under "United Kingdom", as do Wales, Scotland and England

"I" wouldn't, but customers who live in northern Ireland do, because this is their address. And when they cannot find it in the drop down list, they call us and say they cannot register.

The fact that you need to change the country to populate the region has also caused confusion for almost every one of our international customers as well, as the REGION comes first on the form, and most customers do not realise they need to change the country (which is later on the form) to get different regions, and so fail to register and have to call us.

I think the problem is that there is no ISO code for Northern Ireland, as it's part of the "GB" designation.

 

Suppose you could pinch the one for Nicaragua - assuming you don't get too many sign ups from there - although they probably wouldn't then be charged VAT.

I have never had this issue with NI customers as they know that NI is part of the UK.
