Question

Hi.

Firstly, if I get WHMCS, will it be easy to set up GoCardless?

Secondly, say I'm charging clients 30/month. When I reach the VAT threshold, I'll have to get VAT registered and start charging 20% VAT to UK customers.

When this day comes, I think it'll be easier to just suffer lower margins or I'll have to delete all the invoices/GC PayLinks which'd be way too time-consuming. So when this day comes, how easy would it be to mass change all the invoices and make each one say 25 + 5 VAT/month?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for considering WHMCS. In answer to your questions:

1. A GoCardless module is being included in the upcoming v5.1 release, it will be easy to configure, yes.

2. To start changing VAT you'd simply need to configure the appropriate tax rule when you're ready and clients who meet that rule will be charged VAT going forward: http://docs.whmcs.com/Tax/VAT

What you're describing is exclusive VAT which is the default setting for WHMCS.

Thanks John.

Okay so say I have 50 people paying me 30/month and 50 people paying me 40/month.

No VAT is being charged. I then get VAT registered and add a 20% tax rule to UK payers.

After that, would all of the people paying me 30/month have the following on their invoice, or similar (automatically):

Total: 25

VAT: 5

Grand Total: 30

And all the people paying me 40/month would see their invoices change to this automatically:

Total: 33.33

VAT: 6.67

Grand Total: 40

So all I'd have to do is change the tax rule and then all invoices would maintain prices but include VAT and my PayLinks would remain the same?

Thanks...!

Oh by the way you say I'm describing exclusive VAT... surely it is inclusive if I'm having VAT be included in my prices? Thanks!

EDIT

Other post before this is awaiting approval from a moderator.

Also (sorry for three consecutive posts but I have to wait for my other one to be approved and can't seem to edit the others)...

When will the update be released? There's a Release Candidate version up, could I just use that and then upgrade to the other release when it turns up?

Thanks.

What version do you have access to?

Installing the modules is easy, but it does depend on the current version installed

When you upgrade you may then have access to additional modules

Whether you install an older version or wait for the next version is only a decision you can make

Personally, I would go for the current version, get used to setup and configuration

If you make any mistakes these can easily be deleted / removed, or completely reinstalled

Hi

Thanks for your reply

I intend on getting HostGator reseller and getting a WHMCS license through them. Apparently the new update was brought out 6th July!

So if I sign up to HostGator will I be able to get the latest 5.1 release automatically and be able to charge with GoCardless?
