just looking for some info on this so i can set this up and fully understand it just incase something gos wrong as things do from time to time

The affiliate system is built into whmcs. All you do is set your options and when a client signs up to the affiliate system they can get a banner code or link and use it on their own sites. Its all automatic.

With regards to wordpress, WHMCS is a standalone script and you can use templates. I personally though use a wordpress script as my sites front end as it gives you allot more options and customization. I also have matching template for wordpress and my whmcs client area.
