lynnette
We have recently moved our business address and need to put the new one on our invoices. Unfortunately, if I change the address under the normal business profile it changes it on all invoices (old and new), as it is illegal to change an invoice once issued and paid, how do I work round this.
m8internet
What country are you in? I don't see how the old invoices would be affected, as these had already been sent, however any replacement copies will have the new address The details are from : General Settings -> General -> Pay To Text Therefore if a customer wants a replacement invoice, that was issued before the change of address date, amend the details in this box, issue the invoice, then replace the details in the box However, the previous address is no longer appropriate, so even if the invoice was issued today the old address no longer applies So what government department deems that to be illegal?

I'm in the UK and you should not alter an invoice once issued and paid, I will do what you suggest but its going to be a pain having to change the details back if someone wants a replacement (which happens often) because I would normally just tell them to print it off from their client area, but never mind.
m8internet
Check with HRMC, but I don't think that applies anymore I moved office between 2003 and 2004, we issued invoices and receipts in the following three years in the following three years and HMRC did not have any issue with this All they asked was that the Company Name, number, and VAT number were the same They weren't interested in the Company business address With respect to Companies House, this only applies to legal documents (in effect the registered office only), not invoices or receipts, and again they weren't even interested I retained both letters for five years, just in case
