ninak
A while ago we wanted to something similar to this based on sending funds to the Children's Asthma research. PayPal had at that time told us that we could not do this as we were not registered as charity fund raisers. Here in Florida you must be registered to even sit outside a building with a can. We were told that the best way to do this was to have a direct link to the website of the organization and let the client choose what they want to do but in no way could we hold funds for the organization. We also at the time had asked about setting up something like giving a percentage of the sale to an organization of the clients choice, but again the registered fundraiser question was an issue. From what I understand, you cannot hold funds for any charity organization unless you are a registered fund raiser for that charity and the funds must go directly to the organization and not held by you for distribution.
