patrickh
If a domain is locked and WHOIS protection is enabled does that mean a domain transfer will not be processed? I am using OpenSRS and experienced this issue where I had to alert the client via email, have them call to unlock the domain from the previous registratr, modify their WHOIS protection, then unlock the domain in OpenSRS to finish the transfer process. Is there a way to automate this or a simpler process to alert the client through WHMCS transfer process rather than having to do all this manually?
mylove4life
Yes, the domain has to be unlocked and the Whois has to be updated with the write admin email. Not sure if the system will email you with the status...
Damo
The domain needs to be unlocked but the whois privacy does not need to be changed. The whois privacy applies to general viewing of the whois data. When an EPP is provided as part of the transfer process the registrant will be contacted as per usual. This is done by the registry behind the scenes.
