jaatendi
I have two products/services, and am using the Direct Shopping Cart Links. The problem is that when the link is clicked, the order form then says that the cart is empty. Here is the link: https://webgooroo.ca/clients/cart.php?pid=4&carttpl=ajaxcart The order form is also asking the user to select which of the two products, but it allows you to skip that step and continue on with the order. If I continue with the order and select a domain name, the hosting package (ie the product) is then being added to the cart. The way it was working before, and the way I want it, is for the cart to be showing the product already in there when the link is clicked, and the order form not displaying the option to select a product. Any suggestions for what is going on, and how I can fix it?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted September 21, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted September 21, 2011 The correct URL to use would be: https://webgooroo.ca/clients/cart.php?a=add&pid=4&carttpl=ajaxcart More info @ http://docs.whmcs.com/Linking_to_WHMCS
jaatendi
When I use either the link you sent me, or the one I am currently using, the Order Summery is still saying the cart is empty. Later in the order process, the form knows what product I originally wanted, but it just isnt showing that in the beginning. Its creating a redundant user experience, as it appears to the user you need to select which product a second time. I recently upgraded from 4.3, and the links I was using then made the product already in the cart. Is my version of 4.5 functioning correctly? Surely it should be like it was in my instance of 4.3.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted September 22, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted September 22, 2011 The client needs to specify a domain before the product is added to the cart (per the message in the red box), this has always been the case. I think you may be referring to the previous ajax order form, that behaved differently because it wasn't a shopping cart.
jaatendi
Yeah I liked that aspect of the 4.3 ajax form. Also, I am using the Domain Ordering Integration Code, and when a user enters a domain into the search field, rather than being told wither the domain is available, they are redirected to another page which is asking them to search for a domain. I'm going to have some friends tryout the interface while I watch, to see if others are responding to it like me, confused about repeating a step. Thanks for listening!
