WHMCS first time user, what is the point of setting up "Server" under settings tab?

I did a quick search and could only come up with how to set up server but not what the purpose is for.

 

Somehow, with the help of the video tutorials on the WHMCS website, I was able to set up a product and a payment gateway. Are there any other necessary steps I will need to take in order to complete the set up process for WHMCS?

The server tells WHMCS the details of where hosting accounts are to be provisioned (ie. created).
