yrochon
Hi, trying to setup tax rules, we noticed that, even if a client has not yet registered, the Canadian tax rule gets applied to the price, even if there is a more generic "Applies to Any Country" rules specifying that no tax should be applied. Does WHMCS perform an IP geo-location check to determine it's default behavior, or am I missing something? Preferably, no tax should be shown in the product list as long as the user has not been registered, and show taxes only when the user has registered and provided a country and state information. Since the code ins encrypted, I can not look what's going on under the hood, so I depend on anyone who actually know what's going on here. Please, can someone provide more detail about this? Thank you.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 25, 2011 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 25, 2011 If you have a tax rule applying to all states in a countyr, and Setup > Localisation > Default country is also set to that same country, tax will be displayed by default.
yrochon
Thank you for this explanation. It makes sense. However, is it possible to not apply taxes by default, regardless, until a user has logged in/registered?
