JoshG
Alright, I have what is likely a silly question but here goes anyway. When i use a promo code, it takes the discount off the entire invoice and I can't find a way to take it off just the price of the hosting. So, for example: hosting is $10 and an add-on is $2. It takes the percentage (let's say 20%) off $12 making the invoice 9.60 but I want it to take the discount off the hosting and not off the add-on. This would make the total $10. Obviously this example makes it seem like it's not a big deal but the real-world prices are costing me quite a bit more. In the "Applies to" section of the promo code setup I only have the hosting plan highlighted. Is this just a setting I'm missing or is there an issue here? Does anyone know of a workaround? Cheers.
dansgalaxy
It is a pain, I would like to also see it so can select NOT to have a coupon apply to configoptions as well, or be able to select which config options it applies to.
JoshG
So I'm not losing my mind then? It's not a feature? Damn. Thanks for clarifying.
SilverNodashi
you're not loosing your mind, but this should have been a core feature to begin with, but you would need to submit a feature request to have it added
JoshG
Yeah, that's what I think. Every other system has this. Thanks mate, just posted.
Damo
In the promotion setup do you have the addons selected in the "applies to" list? I don't ever recall seeing a discount applied to any of our client addons.
JoshG
Hi Damo, No, I don't. I only have the actual hosting item selected under that heading. If it's working for you then maybe I'm doing something wrong... i looked at perhaps moving the configurable options to the product add ons section but it says not to in WHMCS because they're designed for one-off fee items.
JoshG
Cheers Damo, I think you just solved my problem! Even though it says add-ons are just for one-off items, it looks like it's easy enough to use them and avoid having the promotion applied to them. I'll play around with it and see how it goes. Edit: oops, I jumped the gun. I just realised why I didn't use add-ons: it doesn't automatically set them up so that creates issues.
Damo
Ah, yep, I get you now. I read addons in your post and didn't realise you were using configurable options.
JoshG
Cheers for the help anyway. Here's hoping it can be added as a feature
