Authorize.net & Authorize.net CIM

So, we are going to be launching our hosting site soon, and I wanted some reasons on why I should choose regular Authorize.net or Authorize.net CIM. I understand how they work, but in my mind, does it basically mean that if we store the credit card numbers on our server, that we will be charged a PCI Compliance fee, versus storing them onto Authorize.net CIM?

What are the other benefits of storing them on Authorize.net CIM, other than they are not on your server, and can be exposed possibly?

I want to see if we should save the $20.

I would think that we would be more compliant with CIM, and that the credit card company would like it more, and possibly not charge us any kind of fee, but if it really doesn't matter, or if there is no charge, then I'll be happy with just storing it on the server.

Your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
