jeremyhaber
Hey Everyone; For the past two months we have been working endlessly to reduce fraud throughout our site, and we have succeeded with our latest greatest invention! GeoFilter! Using advanced geo-location methods, GeoFilter automatically verifies client addresses both during the order process and when clients update account details. If an address is unable to be verified, then GeoFilter flags that order as fraudulent and prevents that user from being able to complete their order. Similar methods are used to prevent fraud in famous payment gateways such as PayPal. PayPal is more trusting of users with verified address information with good reason! Users that use unverified addresses are simply more likely to be placing fraudulent orders! Best of all this method was designed to work with existing fraud filters such as Maxmind for that extra protection! Say good bye to fraud forever! GNS_Harrison
Is there a test trial/demo or some screenshots to see how it works? Or if its on your site? Also it works with the default maxmind on WHMCS?
jeremyhaber
Absolutely, we have been working really hard with Bonfield Digital Studios to bring demos to all our products. Feel free to play around with it at: http://whmcs-demo.com/whmcs/ You will be automatically logged into WHMCS admin area when you go to: http://whmcs-demo.com/whmcs/admin/ Take a look at: - Addon Module Configuration - Client Summary Page (4 new links under the client addressing) As well you may want to try placing a fraudulent order with invalid addressing information. And it absolutely works with Maxmind for WHMCS. So you can feel extra secure!

thernes
Was going to test out your demo, but I got this after submitting a new order; Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class geochecker in /home/whmcsdem/public_html/whmcs/includes/geochecker.php on line 11
jeremyhaber
Hello thernes; Just looked at the demo, looks like everything is working as expected. When did this error occur? Maybe you tried it while we were updating GeoFilter to version 1.1.

jeremyhaber
Hi Jeremy Still getting the same error after hitting the "Complete order"-button on a test-order on your demo-site; http://whmcs-demo.com/whmcs/cart.php?a=checkout Still seems to work here. It could be something to do with the site reset script. If this is the case it has nothing to do with GeoFilter, more to do with our reset script acting up. I will be happy to test this theory during the next reset. I will get back to you. <subscribe> I'm always looking to better detect potential fraud orders so I'll await some reviews. Jack We recently received this testimonial through support the other day! I hope this helps you make up your mind: "After using geofilter for the last few days i am amazed at the amount of time it saves me in detecting possible fraud orders that seem to get past the maxmind fraud process. this is another + mark to Jeremy for another amazing WHMCS Mod. GNS_Harrison
I been using and testing geofilter right now for almost 1 month and so far its working great! I want to thank Jeremy for letting me able to use this module out and it does works much better than the default built on WHMCS and even maxmind. I do enjoy the google maps and how it verifies each users which not only helps many companies with this issue but also to protect these users with their credit cards / paypal. I was able to detect some fraud orders and that did make the buyer upset but it isn't worth risking a dispute in a few weeks due to the user using someone's information. Everything is easier to manage on WHMCS, not having to google address and such. I want to thank Jeremy and thumbs up to the module for what it can do as it's so amazing! Thank you so much Jeremy and WHMCSaddon.com ! Can't wait until your next module. I would recommend EVERYONE to purchase this module if you want HIGH protection and also lower fraud orders. It works really well and it doesn't cost much comparing with dealing chargebacks and future fraud orders.
KuJoe
I purchased this but it doesn't appear to block any fake orders. It displays a message but then allows the user to continue placing the order. EDIT: Just ran another test. If my MaxMind score is less than 1 it will display the GeoFilter message and allow the user to continue ordering. If the MaxMind score is over 2.50 (same details but with a free e-mail instead of a fake one) it does not display a message at all and instead brings me to the MaxMind phone verification screen. Ideally we bought this product to prevent having to spent so much on MaxMind but it looks like we were mistaken. Edited August 7, 2011 by KuJoe More testing.

FlexiHost
Hmm, I just went to try this addon on your own site, and used the following: Invoiced To FlexiHost NZ Steve Amstad 17 rue de la paix, 17 rue de la paix paris, Bourgogne, 74150 France Still went through fine. I am in NZ, and used a French address.
jeremyhaber
There actually seems to be something wrong with the demo at the moment. Sorry about the inconvenience, we are investigating the issue. You can try GeoFilter by ordering a product on our site @ whmcsaddon.com . The address you posted above will be caught by maxmind's GeoIP detection before GeoFilter runs. You may want to make up a fake address in NZ to try GeoFilter out After you try it we will be happy to delete the fake account for you. Just let us know through a support ticket.
KuJoe
Sorry to bump this, but this is by far the best addon I have ever purchased BUT I've been fighting with it for a while now without any luck. It's causing a lot of downtime lately for my websites whenever I click the "Verify" button and recently it started bringing my website offline when processing new orders. Anybody else experiencing this?
jeremyhaber
Sorry to bump this, but this is by far the best addon I have ever purchased BUT I've been fighting with it for a while now without any luck. It's causing a lot of downtime lately for my websites whenever I click the "Verify" button and recently it started bringing my website offline when processing new orders. Anybody else experiencing this? A few people have reported this. We haven't really had too much time to fix this as we have been focusing a majority of our time on a new software unrelated to WHMCS. The problem would seem to occur when the verify button tries to activate a lot of products or a resource intensive product to activate. It runs a few commands through the WHMCS API at this time. I'll see if I can't make it a bit more efficient on our end tonight. Thank you for your patience.
jeremyhaber
GeoFilter has been updated. If you have purchased GeoFilter you can find an update on WHMCSAddon.com in your clientarea. We optimize the use of the updated WHMCS API to improve performance. You can now Whitelist or Blacklist countries. If you choose to use this feature the only countries allowed through would be white-listed countries. Unless of course the client has already been verified by you or your staff.

jeremyhaber
Hi can you please detect the visitor country, city, state and zip code from ip location while registration of a new clients? this product will do this? if not i wanna pay for the ip info detection This does not use IP information. It uses a map api to detect the address. That is why this works besides other anti-fraud systems like maxmind that use IP information to prevent fraud.
