Manual Addition of Clients/Products to WHMCS

Is there a way of manually adding a client to the WHMCS database and then assigning purchased products/services to that client listing? At issue is retrofitting existing customers to a new WHMCS installation.

I know you can manually add a customer. Been there, done that. But the real issue is populating that customer's "My Products and Services" section.

I tried to do this via Clients || Add A New Order. I elected not to send an email and not to generate an invoice, selected a Web hosting plan from those I've put in the system, set a billing period, set the guy's domain, etc. Order status was left at PENDING. Then I clicked Submit Order.

The next screen showed a user name, password, the server, etc. And this is where I cancelled out of the sequence. My concern is that this is going to tie back into cPanel, create an account, and all that--in essence, just mucking up the works.

Does WHMCS actually interface to cPanel to set up the environment? Or does one, after creating this order stuff, still go into cPanel and do the usual create-an-account bit? If WHMCS actually does, in fact, set things up in cPanel, then how do you do what I want to do--bring in existing clients and their products and services so that everything is in one place?

Thanks

Charles

Would the following be what you are looking for?

WHMCS Admin CP URL ext:

admin/whmimport.php

This WHM Import Script can save you hours of time. It will automatically import domains and usernames from your cPanel Server to save you needing to enter them manually into WHMCS.

You must make sure you have a package setup for each Package Name in use on the server by the accounts you are going to import before running the import as WHMCS will attempt to automatically assign accounts to a package based on this. Any accounts where a package is not found for them will be reported at the end for entering manually.

John (and Mr. Payton): I did see the import stuff in the doc'n (occasionally, even I RTFM!), however, it appears that to do this, I need unfettered access to where plans and things are stored. Evidently, as a reseller, I don't have this access. I can't remember the exact wording now, but I got back a permissions error.

I don't have a large number of customers, and a lot of the data required by WHMCS isn't in cPanel anyway (e.g., addresses, phone numbers, etc.), so manually entering the data that could be imported isn't a big thing.

As it turns out, WHMCS allows me to manually enter the client and tie a non-invoiced product/service to the client name. I was a-feared that going this route would generate invoices and create a mess further down the line. Appears not to be, so I'm good. I think. Talk to me again in about six months when I try to implement online invoicing and payment. ;o)

But thanks to both of you for answers!
