You must have at least one active order before you can add funds so you cannot procee

Umm are you kidding with this message guys?

 

So i have clients who have 30 and 40 domains names in the system, imported from AWBS.

 

These clients top up their accounts regularily so they dont have to deal with logging in and paying for domain names all the time.

 

But now we are seeing that message stating there is no order in the system? So let me get this straight, unless the client has a hosting account thats active he cannot add funds to his account?

 

Are you serious? Granted, domain holders dont have orders but they have domains in the system and there needs to be a way for these people to add funds to their accounts.

 

Iv never seen such a restriction. Does it matter if there is an order? If so, why? AWBS does not restrict this nor should WHMCS. What kind of thought logic is this?

I just read the other thread on this and the soultion is ridiculous. One should not have to create hosting accounts, thus confusing the customer as to why there is one, just to fund an account.

There's no need to create a hosting account, an order is created when a domain is registered or manually renewed too.

 

You can create a dummy product for these imported clients, assign it to them and then accept. They'll then be able to add funds.

 

It only affects automatically imported clients, all those who sign up via WHMCS will be fine.

I don't really understand the whole order business and why existing clients have to have an order active. The various explanations refer to avoiding fraud for new accounts.

 

If the client comes imported from AWBS, then by any assumption they are already existing.

 

Its easy for others to simply say, create a dummy product, assign and accept it. But to do that for thousands of clients isn't practical.
