hostedweb
Hi, The other day a customer placed an order for a hosting package, he then decided to order the same package using the same domain name 6 times. I have the option checked in whmcs config to prevent duplicate domains so how come these orders were accepted? Tony.
GGWH-James
Were they all on the same order or were they separate orders that were completed as of yet? From your statement, I'm assuming they were separate orders. If so, were any of them actually completed?
hostedweb
Hi, They were all seporate orders. Should it let them order the same domain multiple times in a single order? Tony.
GGWH-James
No, but if none of the orders were completed, the domain doesn't actually exist yet.
hostedweb
ok, so if the order is submitted and pending payment, is it classed as completed? if not then perhaps this is a non issue.
GGWH-James
Actually, I've not noticed if domains of a pending order which have yet to be provisioned are counted as 'in the system' or not. However, I can say that domains which have been provisioned are in the system though. With that said, I'd think that they wouldn't be counted until payment's been completed and they're provisioned.
othellotech
Only *active* domains are counted as being "in" the system
blymp
It happens with me all the time. Clients orders with repetitive items. To fix I have to delete entries in the DB. But I think my problem is the "singlepage" cart template we are using. Gotta migrate to other
xeqution
I have had the same problem (multiple times) I have been meaning to bring this up aswell as a feature request. A client simply places an order for a domain name, now they have accidently added the domain name twice to there shopping cart (one order gets processed) while we have to refund the payment for the other order. I think the cart should state "The domain name example.com is already in your shopping cart, to view your shopping cart click here" or something similar.

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted March 5, 2011 WHMCS CEO Share Posted March 5, 2011 I can confirm that a few weeks ago we implemented something for the next version that will prevent a domain being added to the cart more than once so this will no longer be an issue from the next version.
