How to create pro-rated invoice for Configurable Options?

Recommended Posts

I am using Configurable Options to allow clients to add disk space, bandwidth ..etc. to their hosting accounts. Using Configurable Options is preferred in this case to using Addons as I would like the additional services to invoice annually with their hosting (and not separately on the anniversary of the addition of new services to their account). Oh, and yes, I bill annually for hosting.

The Situation:

* The client's hosting is not due until July 23rd ... It is now January 19th.

* The client ordered more disk space.

* I logged into admin, went to the client's Products/Services tab and selected the Configurable Option to add the disk space to their account (no problem)

* I clicked the option to Auto Recalculate on Save - and indeed the new total is correct for their next billing cycle.

The Problem:

I need to submit a pro-rated invoice for the time period between now and their next hosting renewal in July. Is this an option? Or must I manually do the math and submit a separate invoice?

Thanks!

Perfect John! Thanks - that did the trick and was exactly what I was looking for.

Question: I notice after running the "Create Upgrade/Downgrade Order" that the additional disk space (configurable option) was not added to the client's account.

* Will it be added when the invoice is paid?

* or do I need to manually add the disk space and recalculate the new total?

Thanks!
