fatbear
I'm a new, paying customer. I just posted a question to the Customization & Integration Questions forum, but was told that it had to be approved by a moderator first. I don't like that. As a paying customer, my motivation for posting questions is to try to get some answers. Why am I not given the benefit of the doubt and just let my questions post immediately? This also means I might not be able to get timely feedback from the community for urgent issues. If my every post is going to need to be moderated before being published, then I ask, "Why?" Distrusting paying customers is not a good thing.
bear
Why am I not given the benefit of the doubt and just let my questions post immediately? Because you're a new forum member, and there are those out there that spam forums relentlessly with their very first, and often only posts. That restriction is only there for the first handful of posts, when including links (among a few other things), and will be lifted automatically before long. Yours had a URL, so it was moderated, but has now been approved. It's a necessary evil, when running a forum, to prevent spam as much as possible. Sometimes legitimate posts and members get caught by it.
fatbear
Hi Bear... thank you for the explanation. Right now I'm struggling to get an iTransact gateway up and running. Unfortunately for me, it is not one of your supported gateways and the instructions from the website are not clear enough for me to follow them. So, I'm probably going to have to rely on the community to help me out. As a professional software engineer (of more than 25 years), I am mostly focused on just getting the job done. Things that get in the way of getting a job done are always an annoyance. I do understand the spam issue. Such things won't be coming from me, though. I don't have enough time in my day to deal with anything other than my programming tasks!
bear
You're welcome. I know how frustrating it can be when you just want to get done and move along. I often work with government and charity sites, and everything is decided by committee. Not much moves more slowly than that.

fepixie
Are you censoring complaints then? i see a new member with 2 posts has had their posts approved - but my post with a complaint a couple of days ago i've not heard a word about - i guess you must have decided to ban complaints? bear
my post with a complaint a couple of days ago i've not heard a word about You have two posts here, neither of which is moderated or deleted. I don't cause new member's posts to be moderated. If you read, that's automatic. As long as the post is not against our rules, such as advertising, it's approved when I see it. I don't moderate alone here, so I can't speak for anyone else. I see why you might think so, however, it was moved because it involves tickets. Look here: http://forum.whmcs.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Only you and staff can see your thread there.
