How to exclude SSL from knowledgebase pages?

Is there a way to exclude the use of HTTPS on the knowledgebase and the submitticket.php page?

Or is this supposed to happen by default? It appears that my settings in Setup>General are set to use HTTPS in both

WHMCS System URL

and

WHMCS SSL System URL

If I set the non HTTPS field without with just the http url all pages work except the main whmcs index page. I get the following error:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

* This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

cookies.

Any ideas on how to fix the error and use non secure pages?

Thanks

Yes, The KB is now supposed to use HTTPS connections. The reason for this is that some KB articles can be set as clients only, and thus require a login, and without SSL it creates an issue for sites requiring PCI compliance. There isn't any way to have it served over non-SSL at the moment.

Is it really a massive issue if KB articles are served over SSL?

I wouldnt say "massive" but the HTTPS protocol is much slower than HTTP so its best to keep only the pages you absolutely need to HTTPS. With the knowledgebase on HTTPS it slows down my page load times noticeably which is an issue because my clients usually click around to different articles which makes switching in between different articles feel sluggish.
