Austdata
Does anyone know why my "Hosting Account Welcome Email" doesn't show up in the client area pull-down or get sent out when a new customer signs up? It is selected on all the the shared hosting products.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 28, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 28, 2010 It won't be listed on the client's summary tab, but it should show in the Send Message dropdown at the bottom of the products/services tab. Can you send it manually? If so this suggests the account isn't being provisioned on the server so you'll need to check Utilities > Activity Log for the error.
Austdata
I just realised i hadn't mentioned my WHMCS is a touch out of date. It's Version: 4.0.1 It won't be listed on the client's summary tab Is that on the "Clients Profile" page, just under "Delete Clients Account" marked: "Send Mail"? I would have thought that was a good place for it to be recent when clients ask. but it should show in the Send Message dropdown at the bottom of the products/services tab. I don't have a Send Message drop down on the products/services tab (thought it may be my version). After checking the WHMCS demo, I couldn't see it there either. Is that under the Set Up tab or the Client tab? Can you send it manually? If so this suggests the account isn't being provisioned on the server so you'll need to check Utilities > Activity Log for the error. Is that manually from the Client Profile area?

It makes sense to have it there as the product welcome email relates to the specific product. The Send Mail dropdown on the summary tab is used to send more general emails. The dropdown is definitely present in the demo:
Austdata
Ah!! Thanks for that John and thanks for going above and beyond the call. I called up our own business account and the correct welcome email was listed there. The Send Message worked and the correct email arrived. I'll check if it is missing in any of the client accounts but I suspect that much is a good sign. Austdata
I'll check if it is missing in any of the client accounts but I suspect that much is a good sign. Checked a number of the clients and they all had the "Hosting Account Welcome Email". Sent one to the email in the client's account. Don't know if it's important but I changed the email address in both Profile and Contact. However, I cannot see any problems with the settings.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 29, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 29, 2010 So that eliminates any kind of syntax error in the email preventing it from being sent. Was the account provisioned on the server correctly?
Austdata
Was the account provisioned on the server correctly? Sorry about taking so long to get back John, I didn't get the usual email notification. Don't know why but it happens occasionally on another forum too. No, the account wasn't created correctly on the server. Is that the cause?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted November 8, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted November 8, 2010 If it wasn't provisioned then the welcome email wouldn't be sent. Check Utilities > Activity Log at the time of ordering for the error.
Austdata
Nothing in the log jumps out at me. I think everything at 27/10/2010 22:38 is automated or triggered by my accepting the order. At 27/10/2010 22:58 I started answering the clients questions about order and doing the missing parts. The client is a web designer and somewhat competent with cPanel and WHMCS from a clients point of view. The Welcome noted below is not the one I'm concerned about but I suspect you are already aware of that. 27/10/2010 22:58 Email Sent to Felix The Cat ([Ticket ID: NNNNNN] Re: Customer Invoice) austdata 27/10/2010 22:49 Email Sent to Felix The Cat ([Ticket ID: NNNNNN] Re: Customer Invoice) System 27/10/2010 22:38 Order ID NNN Passed Fraud Check System 27/10/2010 22:38 Order ID NNN Fraud Check Initiated System 27/10/2010 22:38 Email Sent to Felix The Cat (Order Confirmation) System 27/10/2010 22:38 Email Sent to Felix The Cat (Customer Invoice) System 27/10/2010 22:38 Created Invoice - Invoice ID: NNNNN System 27/10/2010 22:38 New Order Placed - Order ID: NNN - User ID: NNN System 27/10/2010 22:38 Email Sent to Felix The Cat (Welcome) System 27/10/2010 22:38 Created Client Felix The Cat - User ID: NNN System Cheers, Mike
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted November 8, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted November 8, 2010 27/10/2010 22:38 would usually be the client themselves (you didn't include the username column, so can't say for certain). No automation has been triggered, because the client hasn't yet paid the invoice. Automation is usually triggered when the invoice has been paid, unless you've selected a different automation setting under Setup > Products/Services > Edit > Module Settings.
Austdata
I had a look under Set up > Products/Services > Edit > Module Settings.but it looks okay to me. I attached a screen dump. So if there is anything that looks wrong it may show.
