BigLebowski
hi there I can't quite figure this out. I've set up a hosting plan with free registration and transfer for a selected domain type. When I order as a client, i do a Whois lookup, it says the domain is free and "Available! Order Now" . But confusingly it lists a price in the pull down-menu. The price is the price if I purchased the domain on its own. When I press "click to continue" it adds it to the cart zero-rated. What is strange is that if I select "I want to transfer my domain to xxxx Ltd" then it lists the domain as £0.00 in the pull-down menu and adds it as £0. That is what I would expect and want since users may abandon the order if they see a price before the cart-add. Is this an annoyance to anyone else and how can I fix it? Cheers Dude
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted October 14, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted October 14, 2010 That's expected behaviour, a note is displayed beneath the availability results telling clients which TLDs are free.
BigLebowski
hi John With respect I can see no advantage in displaying anything other than £0 at any time if the domain is free. This is to avoid any possibility of doubt. Some potential customers will not read the notes. Is it possible to move this to a feature request please? Is a hook available to zero-rate the domain price if free when ordered with a package? Many thanks
SilverNodashi
I agree with the OP on this one. If the domain is free, then it should show as a 0 value, not $10 or something that's configured in the backend. This just causes unnecessary confusion.
