jaatendi
When I first starting using WHMCS I got the impression that clients could manage their DNS settings in their client area, but now that I actually have clients with registered domains, I am not seeing the DNS management area. Is it supposed to be in the same area as the invoices and support tickets? Do I need to have something enabled in the back end for this?

scurrell
I am using Enom The domain needs to be set to Enoms nameservers, DNS Management needs to be enabled for the domain, and the button for the feature appears on the properties page for the domain in the client area.
jaatendi
Thanks, I have DNS mangement enabled, I am using my own custom name servers (could that be the issue), and I am not sure what you mean by "the button for the feature appears on the properties page for the domain in the client area." Can you elaborate and that last part and comment on the name servers aspect?
laszlof
The eNom module isn't capable of managing your custom DNS servers. You will need to using eNom's DNS servers if you wish for that to work properly.
jaatendi
Thanks. I'm leaning towards just turning DNS Management off entirely. I am also wondering about domain parking. When a customer registers a domain without hosting, I would like a "coming soon" message displaying rather than the current "server not found" generic message. What is involved in setting this up, and how does it relate to the DNS settings? If I were start using Enom's DNS, would that also automatically park domains. If I turn off DNS management, can I set up parking another way?

So you could point all newly registered domains (using Enoms nameservers) to any site/page you wish.
jaatendi
The domain needs to be set to Enoms nameservers, DNS Management needs to be enabled for the domain, and the button for the feature appears on the properties page for the domain in the client area. I am using Enom nameservers, and DNS management is enabled. Where is the properties page for the domain in the client area? Is that somewhere on the Client Menu?

Is that somewhere on the Client Menu? Once the client selects "My Domains" in their client area, there is a link at the end of each one to display more options for that domain.
