GORF
I've received similar emails from other places trying to get my SSL business, but now from domains@WHMCS.com Reminder - Your RapidSSL certificate for http://www.xxxxx.net expires in 29 days *** RapidSSL Certificate Renewal Notice for http://www.xxxxx.net *** Dear Customer, Your RapidSSL certificate will expire in 29 Days! It is critical that you renew your certificate as soon as possible in order to ensure that your website's sensitive information remains secure. Depending on how quickly you renew, GeoTrust will add up to 3 months to your new certificate to allow you to renew today without losing any of your existing certificate validity period. RENEW TODAY To renew your certificate, please do the following: 1. Go to http://www.whmcsdomains.com. 2. Login to your account. 3. Buy a new RapidSSL certificate. 4. Follow the same configuration procedure as you did for your previous cert. 5. Make sure the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for your new certificate contains the same Domain Name as your previous certificate. 6. Submit the cert configuration. The renewal process will only take a few minutes, so please take this opportunity to renew your certificate today. If you have already renewed your certificate, please disregard this notice. Thank you for choosing RapidSSL certificate again! Sincerely, WHMCS Domains A renewal notice to buy a new certificate! There are no email settings to opt out of marketing email for either account! .
Lawrence
It says http://www.whmcsdomains.com/ in the e-mail, and they are not affiliated with WHMCS.com in any way. They appear to be simply an eNom reseller who is trying to use the WHMCS name to make themselves look credible. As for RapidSSL Certificates, it is normal to be told to buy a new one (they cannot be renewed, unlike domains and such) before the old one expires.
scurrell
It's because you got your Enom account through WHMCS. Search the forum for whmcsdomains.com and you'll get the answer...
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted September 17, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted September 17, 2010 Enom send it on behalf of us being your parent reseller. So although it's branded as coming from us, it's not from us, and we have no involvement in it or ability to stop it. When you signup for products with Enom you are always going to get these types of email. Matt

You tell them YOUR customers are pissed and stop "sending crap on your behalf"! Like I said, I don't have a cert with either of them, so it is unsolicited email marketing; period. .
GORF
My bad everyone I was assuming * it was ResellerClub and know I do not have any certs with them. After Matt pointed out Enom, I looked and sure enough I have 2 there; 1 that is expiring. I apologize for any finger-pointing. [Mods, feel free to delete this if you want] * Yes, I am the Ass this time!
