PayPal Payments Pro Deployment

Hi all,

I currently have a WHMCS setup and it's working fabulously. I am now making more sales and need to facilitate online Credit Card Payments.

I have done a lot of research and the solution that suits me best is the PayPal Payments Pro - Merchant account option.

I have opened my account, verified it etc and everything seems to be working on the PayPal side of things. However, I am having problems with the intergration.

These are the steps I took, please let me know where I went wrong:

1. I found this How-To and followed it: http://wiki.whmcs.com/PayPal_Payments_Pro

API Username - Sorted

API Password - Sorted

API Signature - Sorted

Merchant ID - Sorted

Processor ID - I am not too sure what this is, or where to find it? I've done some reading and it looks like this' the email account linked to my PayPal account? I have put the email account in the field for now.

2. I have uploaded the following module: http://www.whmcs.com/members/dl.php?type=d&id=58 found here: http://wiki.whmcs.com/PayPal_Payments_Pro under 3D Secure as I do not wish to make use of it. We don't have the service in my country.

Now when I do an order via the site, it processes but gives me an error saying the following on the invoice page: Unfortunately your payment attempt was not successful. Please try again or contact support.

Also, when ordering, using this GateWay, it asks for the following:

Card Type

Card Number

Expiry Date / (MM/YY)

CVV/CVC2 Number Where do I find this?

Issue Number << what is this and do I need it? I don't normally have to give this information when buying online. Can I get rid of it?

Start Date / (MM/YY) << I don't normally have to give this information when buying online. Can I get rid of it?

Are there any log files that I can check to give you more information?

I know that this' a long read, but I would really appreciate the help guys!!!! Maybe a decent Tutorial is out there that I've missed? :D

Hi John, thank you very much - I have disabled the Issue Number and Start Date. Unfortunately it is still giving me the same error!!

Is there a log that I can find the source of this error? It really has me baffeled! WHMCS is creating the Invoices and sending them off etc.. it's working perfectly, but I can not make a payment via this Gateway.

All gateway responses should be in

disgruntled, thank you!

This is the error I am getting from the log:

ERRORDESC => Error Processing Lookup Request Message, Invalid Merchant Id or Processor Id, Invalid Transaction Password, Error Validating ISO Currency Code Passed [null]

ERRORNO => 1002, 2002, 2020, 4490

TRANSACTIONID => PWACMDsKqpUtdBFesJh0

Progress!

Do you have any idea where I'd be able to get the Transaction Password. I know that all the other data is valid as I got it from my PayPal account.

I will confirm with PayPal and see what's potting!

Any pointers / comments welcome!

To Whom it may concern,

I ma having the same problem as above. I have installed the 'patch' to remove the need for 3D secure (in the link above) and this has allowed me to manually use the 'capture payment' button in the backend with success.

However my clients are unable to process their credit cards from their portal, receiving the error message: "Unfortunately your payment attempt was not successful.

Please try again or contact support." And the bakcend log still mentions that it has failed the 3D secure.

Please advise as soon as possible,

Thank you,

AJ

The follow is a past of my gateway log:

Invoice ID => 141

User ID => 12

Amount => 10.00

ERRORDESC => Error Processing Lookup Request Message, Invalid Merchant Id or Processor Id, Error Validating Merchant Id Value, Invalid Transaction Password, Error Validating Processor Id Value

ERRORNO => 1002, 2002, 4020, 2020, 4000

TRANSACTIONID => OjYTCFSTFWgYevW5lpEH

ENROLLED => U

I have submitted a ticket and will let you guys know what the issue(s) was (were).

HI Riply,

Any results on your ticket???

I'm having the same problem. But I am able to manually run the CC's the client has put in via my backend. But when they try pay it themselves I get the same error.

It looks like the fix hasn't removed the 3d pay from the client side.... :(

PS. I spent 2hrs on the phone with Paypal, and what I understood is that you cannot get 3d secure info (transaction pw and processor id) unless you have a uk paypal account... reps didnt really know what was going on, so might not be accurate.....

Hi guys, Riply here (I forgot my password)

The issue, it turns out, after a LOT of hassels, is that I am not living in either the UK / US / Canada..

The only way to get around this "legally" is to register a company in one of these countries and then open a PayPal account for that company.

It looks like this' what I'm going to have to do..
