1. Yes absolutely, you don't have to add a reply to be sent to clients.

 

2. Not that I'm aware of. A WYSIWYG editor would cause problems with support tickets, it's deliberately kept simple so you and your clients can exchange code snippets without it getting confused in rich text formatting.

So leaving the "Add Reply" box blank should NOT send a message to the client? (It was blank - but I'll check again make sure there are no spaces or something).
