PayPal not redirecting? Just a button?

Okay so please forgive me if this is just something simple i'm missing, but i'm new to WHMCS and the entire hosting world but i've got my site and everything setup and ready to go.

Here's my question, i'm waiting on my SSL to be setup so my only payment options right now are through PayPal.

Customers will be purchasing recurring hosting plans but might also add on a dedicated ip or SSL cert.

I went through to test it and WHMCS works perfect up to the point of showing the cost owed today and recurring. Once you click checkout and everything it goes to a page that says

"Please wait while you are redirected to the gateway you chose to make payment..."

But it doesn't actually redirect, it just shows a paypal button right below it.

Once i click on the paypal button it takes me to paypal and says recurring payment for like $14.99...

Here's my question, what about the other $99.99 in charges that are one time? Do those get processed after the recurring payment? I dont know how to test with paypal without actually paying anything so i didnt go past the first step.

I should have google checkout setup soon, but i would still like to be able to use paypal.

Is there just something im doing wrong or does it take to to pay the one time fee after the recurring payment?

How do i get WHMCS to automatically redirect to paypal instead of just showing the paypal button?

Thank you very much for any help it is greatly appreciated!

Ok i have all these unchecked:

Force One Time Payments Never show the subscription payment button

Force Subscriptions Hide the one time payment button when a subscription can be created

Modify Subscriptions Allows subscribers to modify their current subscriptions or sign up for new ones

Should i keep all them unchecked? It still shows the paypal "Checkout" and "Subscribe" button when it says "transfering..."

Is there any way to make it automatically transfer to paypal without having the click the button? I got the API information from Paypal and saved that in the info too but it still shows the button

Thanks for the reply!

  • 3 months later...

i have a related question:

it seems with paypal the charges get bundle into one. so if there is a one time payment related with a subscription paypal just sees the total.

Will paypla actually separate the recurring portion from the one time payment ?

for instance if the monthly susbcription is $6 and the one time payment is $50. paypal sees it as $56 in the check out process. but will it actually charge the $6 on the monthly bases?
