markb1439
Thanks for the reply. We definitely need to create our own zip files...so if we buy, you will show us how to do this? ;-)
vchosting
Thanks for the reply. We definitely need to create our own zip files...so if we buy, you will show us how to do this? ;-) Yes no problem support is included - there are certain restrictions in so far as you would need to be able to edit MySQL db files for some aspects! You should always try the free 7 day trial initially to ensure server compatability - we only offer support on the standard installation for a free trial but once purchased we will offer customisation support.
markb1439
Hi, A few followup questions: Is your script encrypted? I'm always wary of encrypted items because they can be hiding things...do you certify that there are no backdoors or similar items? (Please do not be offended by this question...our billing system is our lifeblood, so we would be careless if we did not vet a component carefully before allowing it there.) One thing that concerns me is the license check. For example, if you should decide to discontinue this product, we might be out of luck. Can you alleviate this concern? How long does a typical WordPress installation take? I tried the WildFire DSI demo, and it took up to 2.5 minutes. Does your script allow any customizations, such as setting up e-mail accounts or anything else in addition to the WP installation? Thanks, Mark

Does your script allow any customizations, such as setting up e-mail accounts or anything else in addition to the WP installation? Thanks, Mark Hi Mark Thank you for your interest in VC-AutoPress In answer to your questions; Yes the script is encrypted to protect our work. I understand peoples concerns over encrypted software and all I can do is publically assure you that there is nothing in the script other than the code required to excecute the script and make it work. The script does not obtain any data and purely carries out the job it is intended to do. We have many customers using this script and Im sure they will confirm that they have not had any issues. In terms of the license check, I will say no more than you are paying for one years use which is renewable and if during one of those annual periods we were to cease trading (Which is not going to happen - we have to manny customers) I would personally ensure that anyone who had purchased teh script got the script without the license check facility built in so that there was never an issue of you being without it in the future. We have customers that use this script and have based their business around it. I fully believe in honest and ethical conduct and you would not be left high and dry. The installation typically takes around 10 - 60 seconds from clicking the Final Order button on the cart. When their screen refreshes the site has been fully installed. In terms of customisation, At this time the script will purely install wordpress and teh database required, the wordpress site can be fully customised and you can set up as many products as you like to offer customers different versions as standard with different plugins and themes etc. There is nothing that currently allows for the script to set up an email address in cPanel im afraid. This is something we may look at for furture releases.
markb1439
Does your script also allow users to choose their own admin username and password for the WordPress installation during setup? Thanks, Mark

vchosting
Hi Not currently but this is something that we are working on for the next version. Version 1.1.1 has just been released which now installs WordPress 3.0.4 direct into the root directory.
markb1439
Thanks. We'd definitely need that feature, as we need to make sure that users aren't using the insecure "admin" username. We'll watch for that feature.
Jared
This is clever can it be modified for Joomla packages by chance? I've been using DSI Package Installer but the cost per WHMCS install is a bit expensive.

potbelly
I have been looking for a solution like this. I am not a web host, nor do I know anything about "WHMCS". I don't need this software, but am more than willing to purchase this WordPress Auto Installer software for use WITHOUT "WHMCS". Can I use this software without WHMCS? Thank you!

markb1439
Hi, A couple of questions: 1) Does it allow the user to set his name yet (instead of defaulting to "admin")? This is a showstopper for us. 2) Does it allow us to otherwise customize the installation? We need to be able to install the latest WordPress version (do you support 3.1 and up?), and we want to include a package of plugins and themes in the installation. Thanks, Mark

Thanks, Mark Hi Mark In reponse to your questions; 1) No not as default but this is something that we can happily customise for you. 2) You can drop any plugins and themes into the default zip folder which will then be installed at the same time. This is currently supporting version 3.1 and we do periodically update teh addon as and when new releases are available. Just to let you all know we also have released the Jooma 1.5 auto Installer and the Joomla 1.6 auto installer which I mentioned previously but today we have released the Drupal auto installer which you can read about at http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=37879
markb1439
1) No not as default but this is something that we can happily customise for you. How much would that cost? We definitely need to allow users to set their username. But our budget is tight. :-( Thanks.

markb1439
Hi, Thanks, received your quote. I have to be honest...on second thought, I think this feature should be in the product anyway. Using "admin" is a security risk because, whether we tell users to change it or not, some users will leave "admin" as the username. That will put their account and our server at risk. So on one hand I don't know how I feel about paying extra for a feature that I think should be there anyway. On the other hand, your quote was reasonable for the work involved, and you did show flexibility in that quote. So we'll think about it at this end. Thanks, Mark

mrl14
Hi Wayne, Seems this is the product I'm looking for. Couple questions. 1) Every few weeks, am I able to upload a new version of WP that includes updated themes and plugins so that any new provisions are automatically installed with this version? (I think you may have answered this but wanted to triple check) 2) I'd imagine that this plugin will work whether you have 1 server or 100 servers? and if so only needs to be installed on the WHMCS server right? Or do I need to configure this on every server we have? 3) Can this be provisioned using an add on in WHMCS (ie. add wordpress for $3 extra/month) or is it solely based on the plan they select? Thx for your help. Edited June 11, 2011 by mrl14
