tomdchi
Godaddy has begun to use special characters in their domain transfer auth codes. So far I have seen colons, commas, and equal signs. WHMCS strips these characters out when saving to the database. This is not a problem unless the transfer has to be initiated again and then the wrong auth code will be submitted. Please fix this with next release.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 2, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 2, 2010 Your WHMCS install shouldn't be removing those characters from the auth code field? Are you not receiving them from the order form or just getting the invalid auth code once the transfer is initiated? Matt
tomdchi
Your WHMCS install shouldn't be removing those characters from the auth code field? Are you not receiving them from the order form or just getting the invalid auth code once the transfer is initiated? Matt The problem only comes in when a customer does something wrong like not approving the transfer in time or accidently clicking the disapprove link in the email. The transfer has to be initiated again but the auth code that was saved originally and then displayed in the admin transfer form has the special characters removed. The url where this can be found is https://whmcsinstall.com/admin/clientsdomainreg.php?domainid=714&ac=transfer I looked in the database, tblorders.transfersecret and the characters are missing from all the entries that had them. Is there a sanitize function being run on this when it is saved that could be stripping them out.
Daniel
I can confirm we've seen this too.
slsdoug
I just had this happen. The characters, such as commas, were stripped from the auth code. The domain transfer then is rejected due to an invalid epp code. I have v4.2.1.
