PureEvil
Howdy I'm currently toying with the idea of moving from a dedicated server provider that supplies WHMCS free of charge to their clients to a new provider that does not. I know I will need to buy a license and I'm not worried about. My question is; what kind of issues can I expect to run in to moving the data from one server to another? How do I even go about this? Do I simply load a clean install of WHMCS and restore a backup or is there an export import feature for all the client information (invoices, history, etc) Have you done this before? If so how did it work out for you? Thanks for any and all help...
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted June 9, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted June 9, 2010 Yes that's right. You shouldn't have any problems. Please review our documentation: http://wiki.whmcs.com/Licensing
DialAHost
Or you can just upload the files and upload the old config file, then import the sql file. I have done this maybe 5+ times, works fine, just ensure all the files are the same, the config file has the right info and so on.
