Reseller Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just new to this site.

I run an IT Based co in Ireland. I've been reselling Hostgator for years, but never set up a website driven site to resell the hosting.... So we're looking into it now...

Hostgator tell us we have a license for WHMCS for use. However, they seem to be reading from a sales sheet in listing the specifications, and cannot tell us if they can offer us a prebuilt template to work with the site, how we can customize it or not. I'm looking for help on this one issue here.

In haste, I jumped in a purchased into the reseller options for Godaddy, and in getting to realise what we were selling, it's buying in at a lower cost, but we have a % of the sale, so its very misleading. However, the site, SSL and everything are already set up.

So, we are resellers for both hostgator and godaddy. I can cancel the Godaddy account in the next few days if we do not use it. So, I'd like to get started in getting the hostgator w/whmcs running. Are there any guides?

I'm not a web developer or programmer, so would struggle with code.

Thanks all.

WHMCS does with two templates; portal (dark blue) which is designed to be used as-is, and default which is designed to be easy to customise with just HTML skills. Details on editing the template files can be found at http://wiki.whmcs.com/Customising_WHMCS'>http://wiki.whmcs.com/Customising_WHMCS

Please start by reading through our documentation: http://wiki.whmcs.com in particular:

http://wiki.whmcs.com/Installing_WHMCS

http://whmcs.com/tutorials.php

I also believe HostGator have specific resources for installing WHMCS on their servers.
