Just a quich not to warn anyone using 0870 or 0871 numbers in the UK.

 

if you use these numbers then you must register with PhonepayPlus (http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk) if you do not then you will be increasing the likelihood of a formal investigation and will receive complaints from consumers.

 

then you have to publish the pricing information in close proximity to the number itself to read something like this

"TELEPHONE CHARGES - calls to our 0871 number are charged at 10p per minute from a BT landline, calls from mobiles and other operators may be higher."

There is no point using a 0870 or 0871 number, its greedy and purely for profit.

so what are 0843 number then, they are the same, a non geographic revenue generated number

0843 and 0844 and 0845 are generaly not for profit, there is a hell of a cost difference. 0871 is a premium rate number. And can i also add 0845 is usualy free on most bt call plans.

0843 and 0844 and 0845 you still get a revenue from these, which is still roughly the same revenue as an 0870, 0871 number, which is between 1p to 3p per minute revenue.

the only exception is 070 numbers which are far more expensive.

0845 is free for many callers, BT,Plusnet,madasafish,Talk Talk... 0871 cost premium rate 24-7

but their is No laws saying an 0871 number cannot be used as long as also display the call rates and these are greedy or purly for profit

Correct, But why use a premium rate number for support and sales? I dont understand it myself.
