I find it very hard to believe that a company that has been trading for 10 years needs to resort to cheap html templates for their website and require feedback from a public forum.

 

well i have and why pay mega $$$ for a web design or template if you dont need too. And why not get feedback from this forum.

If he were trading as a designer for that time, I'd agree, but a webhost doesn't need to also be a web designer. I know quite a few that can't be bothered learning or making their own site, instead hiring out. Some others have no talent, but still make the effort. ;)

exactly, i am no designer or coder, rather concentrate on good customer service rather than learning to design websites. I have tried with disastorous results so i decided just to use premade designs and do the minor works to suit my own business.

I absolutely agree with that. I am good at everything but designing a website and when I try omg its down right awful.So I hire out any real work I need done.

 

It's not like I don't understand php or html its rather the flow of the site I can't grasp because I am more of a linux tech geek then a html geek.
