Oh ok, so if I don't have any of those enabled, then I won't be able to accept Credit Card payments on my website?

So even if I added a credit card for a client under "manage credit card information" at the "clients profile" area; I won't be able to charge the customer's credit card because I don't have a merchant gateway enabled?

Thank you very much for all your help.

Yes, only if you have one of those merchant gateways can you use the CC information stored in the client profile.

But my module does not offer the credit card change capabilities, as that is already built into WHMCS. This module gives the ability to set the default payment method regardless of what gateway you have :)

Ok, well thank you very much for the information, now I understand better. =) However, is there a way I can take out the "manage credit card information" menu? At least for now that I don't have a merchant gateway?

Thanks!! :-P

You can edit the .tpl file and customize it for your needs.

Can we use different payment gateway. The payment gateway I want to use is not in the cpanel list of whmcs.

Can I use that cpanel.

Yes, any payment gateway is possible. It just needs to be sorted properly in your Admin > Payment Gateways section.

If anyone has any feature requests for this module, please make them known!

It is still useful in v4.5, as there is still no built-in client-side support yet in WHMCS for changing the default payment gateway on a per-product basis without administrator intervention. Coupled with the free code at http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=30782 , it works amazingly well for administrators trying to manage their clients' payment gateway!

We have updated the script to be compatible with WHMCS v5.0.3! If interested in the update, please post here, so that we can judge interest. As mentioned previously, this module is still useful to allow customers set their payment gateway on a per-product basis

eg their PayPal Subscription ID

May not be very secure to do such a thing client side, while i know there is possibility of obtaining this in many ways, A weak client password could be broken allowing unauthorised access to the ticket system or requests of account actions directly using the clients account.

Because of this anything of account level consequence to a client will always receive a response from our support requesting last payment id, subscription id or some other way of identifying the ticket as legitimate because nothing client side is ever asked for, its always "off site" information.

This is one of a range security measures so i feel displaying the id in the client side will be detrimental to the security of a clients account.

Then again, last payment id is not the same as subscription id so i guess it would be viable, it just depends on what gets displayed but i still feel subscription ids should be left to admin side and paypal website. just another step in the verification process then.
