yamaharr1
I have a user who does not want to renew their domain name but wants to keep the hosting, they have two other domains hosted elsewhere that are pointing at the server and the files hosted on my server. If I renew the hosting the domain was offered free so it is tied into the package, they also have SSH that is tied into the package. If I do not renew the domain won't the hosting links to cpanel, FTP, SSH etc. fail? Is there anyway I can change the domain they used during their sign up to another domain that is not hosted through us but not have to move the files. Anything on this would a great help.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted April 2, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted April 2, 2010 You'd make the change in WHM, then update the domain in WHMCS for your records. You or the client can tick the "Do Not Renew" option or set it to Cancelled to ensure it is not renewed.
yamaharr1
How would I do that through WHM? Do you mean through the DNS zone? If yes what would be the steps afterwards in WHMCS?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted April 2, 2010 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted April 2, 2010 1. No, thorough "Modify an Account". 2. Just change the domain field in the client's product/services tab.
yamaharr1
Sorry, the domain name cannot be changed because it is owned by another user. The domain was purchased from someone else and is pointed at our server, think this has something to do with the error?
yamaharr1
Found my answer at cpanel 1. Remove the parked domain. 2. Go to WHM, modify the account. Change the domain for the account from what it is now to the domain name of the former parked domain. That's all. Just note that the former main domain will no longer be associated with that account so your email/webmail users should adjust the domain portion of their username accordingly.
