Changing default checkbox state on admin forms

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm running my first installation of WHMCS and am in the process of adding my existing clients to the system. When adding a new client, there is a checkbox at the bottom of the form which says:

Tick this box to send a New Account Information Message

By default, this button is checked. As I have a large number of clients to add, I don't want to accidentally forget to uncheck this and have an email sent to the clients as I'm still tinkering with the software and customising the design etc.

Is there a way to uncheck this by default?

Also a random aside: Why does the explanation next to so many checkboxes in WHMCS begin with "Tick this box to..." when this could be omitted without changing the meaning? Just a thought :-)

Cheers.

No problem with regard to the default state. I'll just have to be careful.

As for my other question, a checkbox is a 'true or false' state, so 'Tick the box to...' is unnecessary. Example:

'Tick the box to activate' with a checked box means it's activated (true).

'Activate' with a checked box means it's activated (true) too. I don't know what kind of person would be stupid enough to assume that unchecked meant true.

Anyway, not a big deal, just seemed like a waste of words. Plus the wording is used on some checkboxes but not others, so it had me wondering.

Thanks for the response.
