Bit of quick help please: need to apply a promotional discount to existing order/clie

Recommended Posts

Guys, I have a promotion setup to apply a recurring 10% discount to the monthly recurring cost when a client takes on a particular type of second product.

ie I have:

product a

product b

product c

product 1

product 2

I have created promotion x

I need to be able (as admin) to apply promotion x to an existing client when they already have one of a b or c and add one of 1 or 2.

ie this is a "combo" discount.

I have created the promo correctly and have several existing clients who have a + 2 or b + 1 and I need to get the system to give them a 10% discount on their monthly combined invoice.

I am hunting around for the solution but seem to be stuck - can anyone help me do this please?

TIA

Will

Not sure if you can apply the discount afterwards. You could go to the individual product under the particular client and amend the recurring amount however depending on your payment gateway it might not allow you to update the subscription if your clients are on a subscription say through paypal etc.

The thing is that I would have to amend the product amount for both products instead of applying a method of giving a particular customer a 10% discount on their total invoice amounts.

So I guess this can't be done after the fact?

Thing is that I often convert a product holder over to a two product holder. If I apply a promotion to the new product when I add it - does that 10% (for eg) apply to their aggregate bill or only the newly added product?

Seems I have to do this manually now that I am thinking it through as you have explained it to me.

Hmmm, any other suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks for the reply!

Will
