Not understanding some of the functionality

Hi all,

I'm a fairly new licensed user, and there a a few things I'm not very clear about yet. Looking around the knowledgebase but can't seem to find the answers to some things.

Would appreciate if you can help me understand the following please:

Product and services:

Do the module settings for hosting plans setup in WHMCS (disk space, bandwidth, cgi, max subdomains etc) over-ride whatever is setup for same plan on cPanel/WHM or only there for display reasons?

If you change the hosting plan from within WHMCS client product screen, it doesn't seem to change it on the cPanel server.

If a client has a credit balance, will things like domains and hosting autorenew without them having to lift a finger?

The description for PayPal notification only gives my company name and invoice number. Can this be changed to show the product description: i.e. that it's for hosting rather than just the plan name?

It seems fine for domains as it states it as such, but not for products.

Thank you very much,

- Vincent

It uses the values you have entered for the package in WHM. You only need to enter the package name into WHMCS.

If you change the hosting plan from within WHMCS client product screen, it doesn't seem to change it on the cPanel server.
Change the package in WHMCS, click Save, then click the "Change Package" module command button.

Hey John, thanks for your straight to the point replies.

Just one 'no' out of 4 questions isn't bad I suppose :)

On that 'No' point - what if I add the word 'Hosting' in from of the package names, that should work?

Many thanks,

- Vinent

An invoice can contain numerous different items, so it wouldn't be practical in all circumstances to try and cram all the invoice items into the short PayPal description. Therefore the invoice number is used instead.

This can't be changed.
