Subdomain Hosting

NormPro

Question

I have been considering several different options for hosting software and I think that I have finally decided on using WHMCS. However, I still have one question.

The hosting company I am starting is just for subdomain hosting. I want to offer hosting and subdomains to users for free.

However, when a user signs up for a subdomain, will it create the user their own cPanel account in WHM that they can log into and manage everything?

Also, will they have their own email accounts such as user@sub.domain.com?

I noticed that in the WHMCS demo users could change the nameservers for their domain name. Would it be possible for users to change the nameservers of their SUBDOMAIN as well?

The reason I am asking this is: I am trying to setup a system where people can register a subdomain from me, similar to co.cc, and then point the nameservers for it to be hosted elsewhere.

Subdomains can point to an A Record (which can be another server) or can be CNAME'ed. Only the main domain would need name servers.

But what if someone signs up for a subdomain with me but wants to host their subdomain with hostgator? Would that be possible? Could they change their nameservers to point to hostgator with WHMCS?
