cpanel/whm product setup question

hyperactive

Recommended Posts

had whmcs for two days, and im getting it slowly but surely. Seems a far cry better than Modernbill 5 which broke almost every other day.

1. Do i have to setup ACL for each reseller plan in WHM, if they offer different amounts of server space and bandwidth? We do not sell by total accounts, but by resource usage. Do i have to set them up in WHM at all? I see under the product edit > module settings tab that you can setup the permissions and resources in whmcs. Or do i have to do both?

2. on the product edit > module settings tab in whmcs, can someone tell me what is what? and how it maps to both a resellers initial cpanel account and his reseller WHM account and permissions? I cant tell whats what on this tab for the most part.

This is what we want:

All resellers, no matter what reseller plan get an initial cpanel account with 100mb space and 1000mb bandwidth, which they "own" and can upgrade modify once their in WHM. How do i setup the module settings tab on each product to do this, and do i need to create WHM "packages" for each product, or does whmcs do this "on the fly".

Sincerely,

1. You can use a single ACL for all products if you wish. It is required.

2. It's best to set as many of the package specifications in WHM as possible rather than using the options in WHMCS. WHMCS can create packages on-the-fly using the information, but the upgrade function requires a package name to be used, so you'd need to create a package for each in WHM.

Alternatively you could use the configurable package addon: http://www.whmcs.com/configurableaddon.php
