Couple of question for newb

Hi, first off I'm just hosting my first client and trying not to look completely clueless in the process.

 

Couple questions :

 

1. I'm offering 3 months free hosting. They registered their own domain. What is the best way to do this? I set it up as recurring monthly and set next due date 3 months from now. Is that how you would do it? or is it better to have invoices created and auto paid each month?

 

2. I can't remember if whmcs will actually set up accounts, I set their domain name and package through whmcs, but it didn't show up in whm. Do I have to manually set it up?

1. I'd recommend adding 3* monthly fee as a credit to the client's account. The invoice will then be automatically paid using the credit.

 

2. If it wasn't automatically setup you probably have WHMCS configured to create the account when accepting the order - so you'll need to do that.

can I manually set up an account through whmcs? or should I go through whm? Trying to use whmcs as much as possible to save time in the future

Yes, accounts can be manually setup though WHMCS, click the Add Order link on the client's summary page.
