Domains? Just a Reseller or do you need their API

Question

Hi all,

I am just getting ready to test whmcs and had a domain registration question. When using whmcs for domain servicing through one of the allowed registrars do you need to have the registrars API? or just have an account as a reseller for them?

I have accounts with a few registrars... although some may now be cancelled as I have not used them in a while.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks john,

While checking out the different registrars (that work with WHMCS), I saw several offered both a "generic" reseller plan as well as an API reseller plan. I wasn't sure if the registrars API plan would be required if using WHMCS. Or if whe WHMCS API was already configured for the registrars.

I'll be ready to sign up & start testing in a couple days. You'll probably see me around a bunch more!

WHMCS will use the API to communicate with the registrar, so you will need to be able to use it with your account. Most reseller accounts should be sufficient.
