"Pipe Replies Only" - Question

We're wanting to enable the "Pipe Replies Only" option for support departments, but have a question...

 

For the past few years a lot of our clients have become used to just sending an email to open a ticket. I've noticed that with "Pipe Replies Only" checked, there is nothing sent to the client if they try to open a ticket via email.

 

If I just enable the option, a ton of our clients will think they opened tickets, when they didn't. Is there a way to have a message sent to the client if they try to open a ticket via email? Just something that says, "tickets must be opened from within the client area, etc...."?
