Auto-unsuspend on payment -- Question?

Hello Everyone,

I just had a bit of a problem with WHMCS I would like peoples thoughts on.

I had recently suspended an account as it was causing extremely high load on the server. When the account was suspended via WHMCS, the issue was resolved and server load returned to normal.

An invoice was generated for the suspended account and although I wasn't expecting it, the client paid the invoice despite the account being suspended. WHMCS detected the payment and unsuspended the account because payment was made. I was sent a "Payment has been made. Account auto-unsuspended" email. I was taken by surprise at the account being unsuspended as the server immediately started taking on load once again because the issue with the account was not resolved.

The account was not suspended for non-payment, nor was it auto-suspended by WHMCS for non-payment. So I find it somewhat strange that an account that was suspended by an administrator, was auto-unsuspended by WHMCS.

I was hoping there is a way to stop this from happening in the future other than turning off "Auto-unsuspend" on payment in the automation panel?

Thank you for reading.

Tim

WHMCS doesn't distinguish between manual suspension and non-payment suspension, so there isn't a workaround but you can turn off auto unsuspend on payments in Setup > Automation Settings.

Hi John, thanks for the reply. Can I suggest that a "Do not auto-unsuspend" option be added to the "Profile" section of a client account, similar to the "Do not add late fees" etc? Do you think this could be a possible feature in a future release?

Thank you for your time.
