Read the page again. Dont skim...read. "Looking for a way to get product/domain info & pricing on your site? The functionality for doing that previously referred to as widgets has now been renamed to Data Feeds". So go back and click on the link "Data Feeds" and VOILA!!! you will see snippets.

Recently I have used WHMCS as the billing platform for a property portal and then used the whmcs api's to integrate the billing so that whmcs is used as the billing and accounting platform invisible to the property portal. I was wondering if anyone else had used WHMCS in a non hosting situation also.

Yeah. The owner was a major arrogant cock. I bought the license etc and it was "okay" but only for them a few days after I installed it they send me an email ordering me to submit my passport and other privileged information to them so they could "verify" who I was. Yeah sure buddy. Send me yours and i will send you mine. Give me encrypted code which access core details on my server without knowing who you are? Uninstalled the code right off and told them to stick it where the sun dont shine. Probably he was taking his clients information and doing identity theft selling the information to fraudsters and is in jail now. Could not happen to a nicer guy.

Here is a couple of thoughts from me... 1. Put a .htaccess file inside of admin folder preventing unauthorised ip's from accessing your admin section. order deny, allow allow from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx deny from all If you dont have a fixed ip...get one. 2. Make sure your admin email can not be overwitten/updated. The recent hacks also allowed the hacker to change the admin email, so all they did was to update the admin email and request new password. A good way to make sure that even if they do manage to update the admin email, is to put in a small sql statement inside the config file, which updates the admin email with your hardcoded email address, so even if they do manage to compromise the system a little and change the admin email, as soon as a page in whmcs is loaded, the admin email is overwritten again with your hard coded one. 3. Do not store root usernames and passwords for servers inside of WHMCS If you are running dedicated servers, DO NOT under any circumstances store the root password/usernames for your servers. If you are using cpanel server, just create a reseller account in cpanel and store those reseller credentials inside WHMCS. Its very tempting for ease, to store your servers root details in cpanel, but the hacker can easily decrypt the password and access your server within seconds.

nope. if tags works, but elseif DOES NOT work at all.

By the tone of your response James, I think I should have included condescension as well as arrogance in my initial statement. Your level of disrespect and misunderstanding of customers is appalling. Suggesting I do not need a "decoder ring" to understand your policies is an insult to me as a current client and if the rest of your response above is any indication of how you handle public relations then you obviously have little regard to the reputation of your company. Implying that intelligent customers are inept and telling the to like it or shut up is not a great way to maintain client relations. Looking through this thread, I really think you rate yourself a bit too high in terms of your value against what you provide and seems you regard clients who give you feedback a nuisance and you in turn start insulting them. I have to say, that if what you are stating is the way your company operates, then I would advise caution to anyone considering to use this product unless they dont mind being strong armed into the absurd policies that are laid down.

I have now cancelled my license with GG. I was sent the following message a couple of days after they installed everything. I did not send the information so they suspended the plugin like they promised. Its a bit of an arrogant policy in my opinion. Microsoft does not ask me for "government issued photo id" to use their software, I dont see why a small company in Canada needs to, especially after they have banked my money. Let me also add that the plugin is encrypted so I as the end user, the paying customer, I have no idea what code they are putting on my server, I just have to trust them that the code they are installing is not malicious. Dont get me wrong, the plugin is not bad, its a bit crude in presentation in some places, but does work with WHMCS and sends out the emails to the clients informing them about resource usage etc. If you really need to cap the abuse on your server and dont have the technical prowess to write your own abuse monitoring system, this plugin pays for itself in no time But like I said, giving out my personal documentation to someone I dont know, is not for me, therefore I will find another way to do resource monitoring.

I have just taken the monthly license for one of my servers and asked GG to install it for me. I am very impressed so far with their tech support. Polite, Professional and fast. The plugin is installed and functioning now on my whmcs and on one of my servers and immediately I can see some users with several hundred thousands of inodes, this in itself is a great help. I will see over the next week how and when it catches abusers. I am very confident this is going to be a very useful tool. For anyone complaining about the price, my only comment would be... "stay in the playground with the other kiddies and when you are ready to go into the grown up world of hosting use this plugin, it will save your arse" The one time license of $397 or $28 per month is nothing compared to the hours/days you will spend trying to find the source of abusers on your server. So far, thumbs up for GG Abuse Meter.

Does anyone have any positive experience using this plugin? I tried buying whmcsgold.com but it was a waste of time as its no longer available or supported. I am off to buy the monthly version to try this GG plugin out and if its any good the owned version.

Thank Ninak...good one. The domain widgets IS the best option in this case. Quick snippets of code produces a nice table of domains. http://wiki.whmcs.com/Widgets#Domain_Pricing_Table

Yeah, wish I had checked this thread before. I reckon WHMCSGOLD was a * or at the very least a mediocre product produced by an unwitting individual. The videos on the whmcsgold.com site showing the modules look awesome but probably they are mutton dressed as lamb to suck in needy server admins looking to the long debated solution of how to suspend abusive users on cpanel in an automated fashion. If its too good to be true, then it usually is. His modules at the outset look totally awesome, they would do exactly what I have been looking for. So I ordered two of the modules on 27/01/2011 totalling $124, never received them. Received an order email and receipt. So after a few days of zero response from whmcsgold.com I then logged into paypal to contact the WHMCSGOLD sales support number and got put through to hostgator (which I thought was odd). They told me that "hostgator is no longer associated with WHMCSGOLD or SITEAUTOBACKUP.COM".....they would not really say any more than that and kind of the way they said it was like saying "oooooh....dont use that guy, we dont anymore". I sent the whmcsgold guy a couple of polite emails, no reply at all. His own web site ichthysmedia.com gives me the impression that he has either found god or is totally unhinged as it gives the wrong message totally for a tech firm. So I made a dispute with paypal and just escalated it to a claim today so will know if I can recover my $124. Yeah, so for me, WHMCSGOLD = *. oh...and it just occurred to me after posting this forum reply, to write into google "WHMCSGOLD = *." and POW....pages and pages of unhappy people who have been through the same thing as me.

I sent support ticket into the whmcs team and got it resolved with their help. 1. make sure templates_c folder chmod to 777 2. reuploaded invoicepdf.tpl After that pdf invoices were generating okay.
-
I am having the same issue. I have just put my WHMCS onto a new standalone server, upgraded to 4.4.2 and am getting blank pdf files. See: http://screencast.com/t/rpdc584t77 I have also put $display_errors=true; into my configuration file but seeing that this is probably not a php error then no errors will be displayed. Maybe something is missing on this new server I have no idea, everything else seems to work perfectly except for pdf's.

Merge fields in Predefined Ticket replies
craigedmonds replied to craigedmonds's topic in Using WHMCS
I can understand the html bit, but surely its possible to mail merge customer fields into a text email? (rhetorical question). -
I am wondering if its possible that when creating a predefined ticket reply, is it possible to insert the clients name in the reply? For example, on the email templates you can define {$client_first_name}. It would be handy to also predefine the ticket subject too when creating a new ticket by being able to insert certain merge fields.

So how did you make it link through to aweber?
-
I would also be interested in this. Currently, after I create a new client, I send them a custom email (from within whmcs) with their name and email address embedded in a link, the link goes to a page with an aweber form and their details are already filled in by capturing the parameters in the link. They then click on the subscribe button and aweber does its thing. Would be real nice to have some kind of automated function for this though. For example, tell whmcs to automatically send a newsletter sign up request X hours after creating a new account. In theory its easy to ask but probably hard to factor in all the different scenarios I guess.

Hi John You tell me how much you guys want for this to be included in the next version (or customise my version) and I will pay it.

Is there a way to stop overdue invoice reminders going out for certain invoices? Sometimes I have clients who will receive a reminder and will tell me they will be paying the following week so wanted to turn off email reminders for just that invoice.

Hi, please provide more understandable instructions for version 1.5. Where do we place namespinner.tpl exactly? in /whmcs/templates/ or /whmcs/templates/default?? Kindest Regards Craig Edmonds

Sparky's Admin Upcoming Domain Renewals V4 template
craigedmonds replied to sparky's topic in Third Party Add-ons
Hi Sparky, Found an answer myself. I actually just added - AND `domainstatus` like 'Active' - to your string and it showed me a list of all the valid hostings coming up for renewal as I dont want to see the terminated or cancelled ones. Kindest Regards Craig Edmonds -
Sparky's Admin Upcoming Domain Renewals V4 template
craigedmonds replied to sparky's topic in Third Party Add-ons
Hi Sparky, Those are two excellent pieces of code and very useful. However, on the hosting services list, its showing any free services in the list also. What do I need to add to this so that any Free Accounts are not included Thanks. Kindest Regards Craig Edmonds -
As a billing system, WHMCS rocks completely. It really is the bees knees. However as an affiliate system, its a bit flaky and I am encountering many issues. For example, someone referred a client to me last week for some web design, I raised a quoute for the client, converted the quote to an invoice, sent invoice to the client, the client paid. Now, I cant assign the commission to the affiliate without now creating an order. I would have thought the logical process for an affiliate would be to be able to assign the affiliate to the client and then any invoices raised against the client, the commission would be assigned to the affiliate automatically. It just seems that I have to create orders for everything, yet the invoice system does not create orders. Anyone else have these issues?

Not if you pass an additional parameter in the string such as customerid or someother unique variable. (cloning admin session is obviously a bad idea though) I am looking for this solution also for normal invoices. Alot of my clients just want to be sent a link, open the invoice in their browser and pay the invoice. They perceive it as being a hassle and inconvenience to have to login somewhere and view the invoices. I would like to see in future releases this option in the settings, of course giving a warning that it reduces the security slightly. Perhaps allowing this to be set at the client level even. It cant be any worse than those people who run WHMCS on none SSL sites. Kindest Regards Craig Edmonds
