  1. sequencehost, The html validator addon for Firefox could be a good place to start. Correct the errors one at a time and upload, work on the next error... Then re-post her if you have not found the problem. BTW, what are the 8 characters just before your end head tag? It is the 1st error. JEDs
  2. 1. It took me awhile to figure out how to order. Virtually every page should have a call to action and "Hosting Plan Information" doesn't work for me. 2. When I did click an order button it was like going to another site. Whmcs can be much more integrated with your design. In contrasts to other posts here, I think your design has visual appeal, just work on the 2 suggestions above. One more suggestion, think about how you open a thread, or post, "I'm lazy" just calls the pihrahnas. It becomes a looping feeding frenzy. That's my 2 cents JEDs PS - Admins, the time-out to post on this forum really s___s. Please change it
  3. Well, this is straight out of a simple mind, but if you don't link to it, how would they find it? JEDs
  4. I couldn't decide if this should be here or in feature request: The ampersands in the links on the the cart throw a html error, many of the errors could be eliminated simply by coding them & . Try the firefox html validator addon to see all the errors quckly. Thanks, JEDs
  5. Goodnet, In the picture you attached to the 1st post, you are looking to register: http://www.dom.ivano-frankivsk.ua Is that your intention? It appears that the rules for the ukranian registry are quite different from any I am familiar with (because a "." is used to differentiate between the levels of a domain) Looking at the site at http://reg.net.ua/news (most of which I cannot read), about a little over halfway down the page is a list of what might be the domains that can be registered through them (it says "admin" towards the top and columns labeld "Suffix" and "Country" If that is so, (may well not be ) then none of the domains you appear to want to register are listed. Does your whmcs install use a registrar module that connects to the ukranian registry?
  6. I can answer to this, yes. I understand what you are trying to do with the first part of your question but I am not able to help you there Cheers!
  7. Sparky, my tail is between my legs: After a fair bit of experimenting I found this to work: {include file="portal/terms.html"} :?I am still confused why my clientregister.tpl opens in my editor with only the 1st line. If I view my local file from ftp, everything is there, but to work on it in my editor I have to copy all then past to my editor. editor=Arachnophilia 4.0 (that's another whole thread I suppose) ftp=CuteFTP Pro 3.3 Anyways, thanks to all contributors in this thread, especially the OP
  8. Agreed, and Matt says it will be included in the next release I am happier with this
  9. If they have suPHP then they can't chmod 777 My server has suPHP, but I only use PayPal with no issues
  10. ivano-frankivsk goes in the "www" box ua goes in the box on the right - this is the tld the dot (.) [ivano-frankivsk(.)ua] is put in by the form forum.ivano-frankivsk is a sub-domain of ivano-frankivsk Regards
  11. I am using it with V4.02, works fine. BUT: Sparky, I had to use the fqdn in fetch. I stored my document to call in the same folder as my terms.tpl, and could not call it without the fqdn (so in my feeble mind the path relative to either file doesn't matter. But the fqdn also works in my viewcart.tpl. Also, I was confused for a while because my copy of clientregister.tpl only had one line: {if $noregistration} So that went unchanged (while the checkout process worked fine) until I viewed it in my ftp program. Even then I had to copy it inside ftp to edit locally, if I downloaded it with ftp it still only had the one line.
  12. I understand everything in the OP's instructions except: 1. Do you remove the files, but not the folder? 2. Why do you remove the (answer to 1.)? My templates_c folder (at unavailable location per instructions) is crammed with a lot of files, viewing some of them looks like they have stuff the system is using. So we just delete the files (or the folder)?
  13. If the client picks a plan then on the next page picks to "I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain." They can enter the domain without a tld. The order process will continue all the way to the payment processor
  14. I am running V4.02. Followed the steps in OP and it works fine. Couple of observations in IE (Just upgraded to V8, no other to test): It's interesting that IE bolds the "https" and the domain in the address bar. Second, The downloads.php page is secured, and the download worked fine. Just hard to tell if the download itself (dl.php) was not, or if IE8 fixed the issue.
  15. I believe you can upgrade with: Download: WHMCS V4.0.1 Stable Release Description: The latest stable release of WHMCS to be used for new installs & upgrades (29/05/2009) It should be in your license center at your whmcs account. Not sure where the emails are, but it would be just as easy to open the ones you have edited before upgrading and copy to a text file on your hd. Then paste them back in after upgrade:?:
  16. Thanks, cyberneticos for the link, as you can see it is not hard to do, except that it needs to go in modules/gateways/paypal.php or paypalpaymentspro.php, which are encrypted. Keep us posted on what Matt says. Exactly!
  17. I guess I need to clarify, the choices of web space quota and disk space are both choices on the module settings tab for each hosting product in whmcs. Disk space appears to be a choice in reference to reseller accounts (Which I don't have), but this is not 100% clear. Outside of whmcs>products/services/module settings, yes the two terms would be the same.
  18. I have a reseller account with my host, so I can offer only shared hosting. I have searched here and I think that "Web Space Quota" is all that I need to be concerned with and that "Disk Space" is only if I was offering reseller accounts. Is this correct? I searched here and the wiki, that is my conclusion but I cannot say it is definitive. Thanks much.
  19. Not if you config your package in Setup>Products/Services>Free Domain tab and pick the 2nd option: "Offer a free domain registration/transfer only (renew as normal)" or 3rd option: "Offer a free domain registration/transfer and free renewal (if product is renewed)" And the customer in the order process picks to: "update my nameservers on an existing domain" Or "I will register a new domain." The system differentiates between hosting and registration products vs hosting only products when they decide to get a new domain, transfer existing or maintain their own registration. Further, we need to be able to offer the domain for less when included in the hosting package vs hosting only.
  20. No problem here...and a renewal just processed as well, today.
  21. Shouldn't the information a customer fills in on my site be passed to PayPal so they don't have to enter it twice? (Name, address etc) It is very simple to do with their variables, but does not work. I have just upgraded to 4.0, is this now fixed? Or have I missed it in my setup of whmcs? Or should I submit a ticket? Thanks
  22. I had similar problem, put in a ticket. Matt said: "This error indicates you haven't uploaded the new files there. You have a custom admin folder name so would need to upload the files from the admin folder in the download to your custom folder" That fixed it. I didn't have a php error (maybe they aren't turned on?) but when I tried to log in I had a blank white page.
  23. I have the same question, and have made separate "hosting only" packages because it doesn't work that way. FazeWire, just to make sure before posting I tried the 3rd option again, it charges the full price. Unless there is an option in the control panel that we are missing
  24. Hi, After upgrading to 4.0, I have reviewed the steps for securing a new installation, bringing forth some questions: From "securing your new installation" (or similar title): 1. Rename the file configuration.php.new to configuration.php The upgraded installation has a blank configuration.php.new, while configuration.php has the entries from old installation per below. Should configuration.php.new be deleted? 2. chmod /configuration.php /attachments /downloads /templates_c to 777 (unless your php is suPHP or PHPSuExec) and move three folders "attachments", "downloads" and "templates_c" outside Public accesible folder tree The new install has placed new copies back inside the whmcs, but the old ones still exist in the location I moved them to and have been chmod'd. As well, the new config file contains the paths as originally edited Do I delete the new ones? Finally, Also at my host's forum it has been mentioned to password protect the admin folder from the control panel. It is password protected by default, is this necessary?
