  1. Terri, I am with you.... moving from alabanza platform this is how we handle our business: we sell a package to a client with xyz resources. client ourgrows one aspect, can upgrade that one aspect (bandwidth, disk space, email accounts) so the client orders an "add on" for that particular resource this way we make more money then simply giving them a gazillion resources from the start for $1.99. The idea of upselling bits and pieces is exactly what we are looking for as well. Of course they can upgrade thier entire package to the next larger, but to sell just a few more email accounts for a few bucks more or something will increase your profit margin. Most hosts here seem to not work that way... although it is possible to create the addons in WHMCS they do not actually ADD ON in cpanel. I am not that familiar with cpanel yet.... can we create an add on in cpanel and apply it to an account? or is the onoly way to manually edit that clients package to add resources? But yes I agree, I would like to see addons applied automatcially.
  2. I asked for this feature in the feature requests section however NOONE said they wanted it so Matt decided if I wanted it, custom module was the way to go. I am very pleased, it works perfectly for my situation. I would use this to ask Matt what the license is on the module, I paid for the programming, however I do not know if the module if free for me to reditribute or if he retains owbership, I never really asked. If he says I am free to give it to others, I would be looking only get my developement cost back. Or better yet, if all of you and others really want it, maybe Matt can see the need to integrate this as a standard feature for you all.
  3. have {debug} in the template, turned debug on by turning false to true, but no pop up. checked to make sure no pop up blocker... cant get debug to pop up any ideas?
  4. is there a way to know what variables can be called or plugged in? I can edit he template, I just dont know what variable to place there to show the data I want.
  5. Thanks for the replies... Yes as Si as suggested, thats what I want for the client to see thier total. I will see if I can tackle this in the tpl file. thanks
  6. copying is the biggest form of flattering isnt it?
  7. Hi, I am fairly new to WHMCS so please forgive me if I have overlooked it.... I cannot seem to find the "total" balance for an outstanding account for a client. For instance, client #1 John Smith creates 5 invoices @ $20 each. He logs into his account and can view all of the unpaid invoices. He wishes to send me a check for the TOTAL outstanding balance however he has to manually (I know it isnt that hard) add them up. I would envision a box above or below the "Account credit balance" to say something like "account balance" and show them the running total of outstanding invoices. Is this somewhere, and if not shouldnt it be? I know in this day and age most people pay with paypal or something, but there are many out there whos till use checks or drafts, and they wait until a few invoices pile up and pay them all at once. Just a thought for inclusion if it isnt already available. thanks mike
  8. Not sure exactly where to announce this however I thought it warranted being said. I love WHMCS but there was one function that I needed that wasnt there. If Joe Smith a normal person signs up and buys hosting then I wanted the owner of the account in WHM to be root. Which is the default and WHMCS works perfectly for that. BUT, if Joe Smith becomes a reseller, and then orders more stuff under his name, I wanted him to be able to see all the domains under HIS WHM. So the way to do this was to manually log into my WHM as root and change ownership of an acount from root, to that reseller client. I approached Matt with the idea of when an order is placed two scenarios: Order placed by normal client, order owned by root Order placed by reseller client, order owned by reseller So in less then 1-2 days Matt has custom developed a module for me to allow WHMCS to function this way. It works perfectly and I couldnt be happier. Now my reseller can sell all he wants and see the domains instantly in his WHM. Thanks Matt!
  9. I have to say I am pretty new to WHMCS and have asked for numerous support questions. I have always gotten a speedy response. I will admit it is not like a dedicated support staff that sites there answering tickets every minute, but I find a little patience goes a long way. With that said, I dont think I ever waited more then 10-12 hours for a response, most noticably sooner, and I find t nice when I am up late, put in a ticket, I get a by the time I get up. Overall very good support. Only thing that could improve would be something like an instant chat tech or something....
  10. Hello, I purchased an sCpanel license and in the process of talking with the company, they have been talking about WHMCS biterly. They have said all business relationships have been severed. Wondering whats the scoop? I have done a bunch of searching online, and see a ton of people that complain sCpanel doesnt respond to support and stuff. I have always had a good/quick response from Matt. Kinda weird since it was only recently that everything became integrated so well right? Thanks for any info. Mike
  11. enom is setup by configuing the registrar settings, select enom, and put in your username and password. If you want to test it first, select the test box. go to enom, under resellers (i think) there is a test section, you need to create a test account, fill it with fake money, and log the IP of your server so it works. submit a test registration, then login to resellertest.enom.com with your norml username and password... you should see the fake money go down. if you do, then you are all setup correctly, just log back into whmcs and then uncheck the test account. voila.
  12. Hello, It is great to have the pricing for the products that goes up to biennally, is it possible to extend it to 3-5 year payments.... we often sell hosting 5 years prepaid. Thanks
  13. Hello, If I have the following price structure for domains for retail sales: $20/year 1 year $19/year 2 year $18/year 3 years etc.... $11/year 10 years and I have a reseller, that I want to give a flat rate of $10/year whether it is one year or ten. Is this possible? A coupon wouldnt apply properly I don't think. What I am seeking is basically a way to have two pricing structures for domains in the backend, then I can have a reseller order form with his prices, and a normal retail order form for the others. What I do now is flag the domain orders to go to pending, then when I am notified of the new order, I simply login and manually change his rate on the order, and then process it. And then go to emails, and delete the previous email that went out showing the full price. Any thoughts on how to better handle this?
  14. Ok I see what you mean, if I am logged in as Admin to my WHMCS, click on the link next to the clients username, it asks for username and password, which I assumed should have been the clients. But if I put root and my password I login to that clients cpanel as root. So you are saying WHMCS cannot pass the correct credntials to allow this to work automatically? When I click on manage servers, there is a WHM button that works to login to my WHM as root. I dont see why (keep in mind I am not a programmer) the login to control panel link cant pass the same credentials to allow me to login to the clients cpanel right from there.
  15. hello, not sure if this is a bug or if i have something misconfigured. I have client "Joe Smith". When I am in the admin section, I click on the clients name, then products/services, then I can choose which site and see the details. Then down on that page is a link next to the username that says "log into control panel". This link is not working. It loads a screen that asks for a username and password to log into cpanel but the alid username and password dont work. If I click "login as client", and then my hosting packages, then the exact same domain, then login to cpanel, it loads up perfectly. Any idea why it tries to load different urls? The admin url is trying to load: h t t p s://IPADDRESS:2087/xfercpanel/clientname And the client area link loads: h t t p s://IPADDRESS:2083/login and instantly redirects to: h t t p s://IPADDRESS:2083/frontend/x/index.html Is this a bug or do I have something broken?
  16. I make multiple addons for the different biling cycles. So if they are a quarterly hosting client and need more bandwidth then I create a qaurterly bandwidth package in addons. I have requested a feature to be added to WHMCS that the addons be treated just as a product, you haev the billing scale, and can place them in categories. Would make things alot easier.
  17. Just my two cents, but I dont have enough time to see a loading screen between the steps.
  18. enom.com/resellers/default.asp You have many options... you can lock in as low as $6.95 I beleive. Depends how you fund the account to start etc... if you do not want to spill out alot of cash to get started, then you could become a "sub" account of someone with a $6.95 price and they can sell to you for a littel above that with no setup fees or anything. But to have your own acocunt with enom that locks ina low price, you either fund it with like $6000 to start, and get all that as registration credits, or pay a flat fee of like $1600 to lock in the low price but get no registration credits.
  19. Nevermind... I had it set to go toa pending order instead of register instantly..... so when I click on accept the pending order I didnt realize I had to choose my registrar there. low and behold, read the screen and select the registrar and whola.... register test worked perfectly. thanks
  20. I didnt get any type of email from Enom. Let me make sure I am doing this correctly. I have domain pricing setup with Enom as the registrar, then on domain registrar setting for enom I have my reseller username and password. And I have test mode ticked. I place an order for a domain name... I get an emailed invoice from WHMCS saying my order was placed. I get no other notification of anything happening. I log into my Enom account and see nothing, also logged into my Enom test account and see nothing. What am I missing? Also checked spam folders no mail there.
  21. Hello, I have an enom account, and setup the username and password option in the domain registration section of WHMCS. Just to test it out I click on test mode. I created a new domain registration and processed the order fine, got an email of my invoice, however I dont see an indication in my enom account, actuallymy test enom account. ow do I know it worked before I go live? thanks for any tips.
  22. Hello, I want to understand how to handle resellers better. Here is my scenario: Have reseller that is charged $25/month to be "reseller" he gets his site hosted with that. Reseller can add domains under his account and I bill him $5 for each account. So if I have a reseller with 10 clients, then I will be billing him $25 + ($5*10) = $75/month How does a reseller of mine add clients under them, and for em to auto bill for them? Do I setup a resller product, and then a "client" product and tell the reseller to add an order for each "client". How do all of you handle your resellers?
