At the same time they are not taking steps to protect our data.

Seems like they are on Holiday again. No answer for Ticket #XDB-409231 yet. Open it on 14th Sep 2015 (02:22) Now it is 15th Sept 2015 11:30 a.m, no answer at all. This seems to be typical WHMCS, I tried to solve this issue on my own for 2 weeks knowing WHMCS will not respond in time. Been using WHMCS since 2012 and still same o same o. Wondering how much longer to wait?

Hi Sentq, I notice the same since ResellerClub charges for WhoIs Privacy protection, I do not think it is ResellerClub itself "selling" anybody information. It is these "spam" services with automated tools querying WhoIs Databases for new domains and collecting email addresses of those that does not have the Privacy protection. So the issue is with the owners of the WhoIs databases and the Internet domain registry requiring contact information and at the same time not protecting it. If they require contact information they should protect it without charging for it, or they should not be requiring valid information if they chose not to protect it for free. Its in a way the same as requiring someone's credit card number and at the same time display it for the world to see and abuse. They are requiring it but not protecting it and at the same time charge to protect it. This should be taken more seriously in the age of identity thief and the massive amounts of hacking been going on lately. The WhoIs system needs an overall make over and until they do that giving valid contact info for the world to see should be optional and not required. In the mean time what I am going to do is provide my own Privacy protection service offering up an email and valid P.O box for others to use for around $1 to $2 per year for their domain registrations. Hi All, Seeing if anyone is seeing this error too: Fatal error: Class 'WHMCS\View\Helper' not found Did a clean install of Version: 6.1.0 (6.1.0-rc.1) BuildId: bcb5dd5.60 Build Date: 10 Sep 2015 Everything went fine, after install complete went to the admin page and got error. Tried other pages same thing but /install page. Got the similar error with Version: 6.0.1 (6.0.1-release.1) * // * BuildId: 68f3a94.51 * // * Build Date: 15 Jul 2015 But, that had serious install errors had to manually run the SQL install scripts worked on that for 2 weeks still not working. So gave up on that one and gave the RC1 a try. Install went great, just afterwards does not work. This is on a 2012 Windows Hosting Server Thanks, Brian Davis

Hi Anubianhost, Had you tried using CloudFlare? https://www.cloudflare.com/ With Cloudflare you can block starting at the DNS level stopping them from even visiting your website in the first place. CloudFlare has lots of filters they use to block spammers,hackers, and others you don't won't visiting your website. Even with the Free version comes with a basic Web Application Firewall which stops auto sign up attempts and etc. With the CloudFlare network it also keeps track to see if that User has tried or visited other websites in a short amount of time and then block those that jump site to site. I would give it a try if I were you, it helps alot and you can also add country filters where you can block known spamming countries that you don't want to deal with.

You must had downloaded the full package instead of the one by one patches? So you should not had made any database upgrades. All what was needed is files replacement. But like openmind had said go to your database, and make sure the version matches your current version. If you backedup your database just re-install the backup database and that will fix everything. Look at the hacker communities, they are really close and helping each other out in destroying our businesses. Lets turn this around and band together to put a stop to this and get those that tries to destroy our businesses to pay. Our first round in doing this is hardening our WHMCS installs to help slow down and hopefully prevent any additional attacks. Next is to record and track these hackers and report them to the hosting providers, ISP's, and law enforcement agencies. Together we stand divided we will fall. Brian Davis

Hi TahoeCreativeSolutions, Reseller Club and WHMCS integration basically works like this. 1. Customer buys from your website. 2. WHMCS system places an ResellerClub order on your behalf after payment is received from your customer 3. Customer gets confirmation email from you saying that their order is complete with login details. So customer buys from you, you are the "reseller". From a Customer point of view would only have an account from "You". You are the middle man between your customer and Reseller Club. Hope that helps I had use it for domains pretty easy set-up and works pretty well.

Hi Everyone, I know lately WHMCS had really been under attack and looking at all of the hacking forums and etc they are really having a field day with how WHMCS coded the system. They know WHMCS will eventually come up with a fix that will make it harder on them and while other sites still are unpatched they are trying to exploit as much as they can before everyone patches up and WHMCS fixes the over all issue. Because of this rush lots of hacker teams are mounting massive attacks before the solution is found, in the knee jerk reaction from WHMCS from these new attacks there is going to be mistakes on WHMCS end which these hackers are depending on. While this is happening there are going to be massive hacks, and they are not only going after WHMCS but other Hosting Billing systems and etc. What we can do as Web Hosting Owners is band together like what these hackers are doing, they are one big happy family right now Instead of fighting each other or just pointing our fingers at WHMCS we need to take an active role to help reduce these hacking effects from our end. There are alot of stuff you can do to "harden" your server which does not involve WHMCS help or patching. Starting off with the very basic first: 1. http://docs.whmcs.com/Further_Security_Steps 2. Disable client editing of their account details lock it all. 3. Use CloudFlare 4. Set up very hard to crack passwords, Passwords under 10 chars can be broken with a hash cracker. So if you have a password like daksei2ls1 will more likely not be able to crack so easily. Mix it up with upper and lower case with special symbols like &^%*$#. I had testing a series of our WHMCS hashed passwords and with a MD5 Decoder lots of them can be cracked pretty easily. 5. Watch your server logs for "post" activities 6. Stay alert on what is going on with your server, and database. 7. Report any hacks or attempts here with their IP address, and user agent. If anyone else has any additional tips please provide them. Lets be proactive on our end and make sure our end is protected to the best ability we can. While WHMCS is hopefully figuring out a more robust solution. More on that to come later. Hi othellotech, I had confirmed myself that the current hacks going on with the configuration.php file is by fact done with a special crafted URL query on the licenseerror.php webpage. Looking at my server log I caught this. All you do is copy and paste that URL string in your WHMCS website and it adds a new license. It can also change your admin password. I fixed my system and then for kicks run the same query string and it did it again. But this time it change my admin password which at first the hacker did not do. So you need to change the /admin folder and password protect it The hacker some how was able to do this with out showing up on the WHMCS admin logs but did find it on the server logs through. When I done this it show up in admin logs in WHMCS.
