Upgrade failed
3cellhosting replied to 3cellhosting's topic in Installation, Upgrade, and Import Support
Hello Brian, I thought the community might have been a quicker answer at the weekend rather than raise a ticket. Fortunately your final link helped me resolve the update. I now seem to have a cron issue which I will review tomorrow as I am brain dead from so many attempts at fixing it today. Thank you for your response as it solved my issue. Regards David -
Hello support after an hour of the eggtimer I gave up refreshed screen - this is the message... How do I proceed now? Down for Maintenance We are currently updating our system. Thanks for your patience. Hi all, OK - I renamed the existing folder and the upgrade has now worked. I now have to do some checking to make sure I haven't broken anything now. Thanks David

Hi all, I am running 7.6.1 and the update fails. Following the various links etc. I used phpmyadmin to check last record (with today's date) and found the following... Whoops\Exception\ErrorException: The file /home/********/public_html/whmcs/vendor/whmcs/whmcs-foundation/lib/Installer/Composer/Hooks/ComposerInstallerHook.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6 and cannot run under PHP 7.1 or later. Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 7.1. in Unknown:0 Stack trace: #0 /home/********/public_html/whmcs/vendor/whmcs/whmcs-foundation/lib/Utility/Error/Run.php(0): WHMCS\Utility\Error\Run->handleError(16, 'The file /home/...', 'Unknown', 0) #1 [internal function]: WHMCS\Utility\Error\Run->handleShutdown() #2 {main} I downloaded the full pack and unzipped and there is no such directory as "Hooks". On my server the directory "Hooks" does exist. Is it simply a case of removing that directory? Regards David

Thanks Bartucxp - I still have the silly red no entry sign but now the Intelligent Search works -
[not a bug] Invalid token error after upgrade to 5.2.13 patch
3cellhosting replied to Si's topic in Troubleshooting Issues
I am also getting invalid token error when trying to use Intelligent Search field. there is a small 'no-entry' sign (red circle with white bar) displayed at the bottom of the entry field. I suspect there is a link with the post above seeing as same error message, although I can access my support tickets and update. -
Thanks John. I would expect it to include it in the pdf that is emailed. It does when a client places the order through the front end, just not when I place the order through the admin. Regards

Hi all, I have been using WHMCS for a while now and I am very impressed with the ongoing progress and imporved usability. My query is about manual orders placed by admin on client's behalf. For example, I have clients who take a full package from me - hosting, domain name, and website design. This usually takes the form of me adding an order from admin to cover the domain and hosting. I select not to inform client or generate invoice. So far so good. I then design the website and create an invoice. I select the payment as Bank Transfer but it does not send bank details. It works fine when clients order via front end. Any ideas how I can get this to work please? Regards David

Hi Bear Good observation. I have IE6 and IE7 on my pc - when I click on Help > About I get the same reference number. It must be pulling the info from the IE7 version somehow. I will investigate further. Cheers

Hi Frank, I just tested on IE6 v7.0.5730.13 SP3 and everything appears just fine. Hope this helps David

Hi Frank, I am with Hostgator and don't have any problems with IE6 other than it is a heap of crap and doesn't like whmcs in a wrapper in Joomla. Still works though. No problem in IE7 and FF3 Hope this helps David

Looks like the meaning of life - twice! I had same problem with creating a manually added domain. I checked domain prices had period selected; selected transfer; then added some text to EPP code - this time it worked as expected. It has raised a query for me though. If somebody tries to register a .co.uk domain then it has to be for a minimum of 2 years. Many people don't know that so they select 1 year from the dropdown. This will then generate code 84 and new customer thinks 'crappy site' I'll buy elsewhere. Or have I got that wrong? Regards David

Opened a ticket on this one and Matt gave some good pointers and offered to help with the dodgy uploads! This was the final solution for anybody in the same boat! Delete all files from WHMCS folder on server. Upload V.3.3.0 files to folder. Dropped tables from database. Imported data from backup taken at start of process. Run the install file. Delete install folder. Log in to admin. One minor hiccough after that - admin worked fine with all data present. No front end other than powered by link and warning that I was logged in as administrator. I went to the admin > configuration and switched the template to default from Portal and all worked fine. Hope this helps any other poor soul who ends up with hand-fulls of hair and high blood pressure Many thanks Matt Regards David

OK - went from 3.1.2 to 3.2.0 and made a cock up (I think). Thank goodness for taking backups! Uploaded files - got recognised 3.1.2 to 3.2.0 - clicked continue - advised to delete install folder - clicked to go to admin - corrupt file message - includes/dbconnections.php - reloaded file - refreshed - another corrupt file - reloaded - refreshed - yet another corrupt file. Unzipped with WinRar! Loaded with SmartFtp. Tried a fresh unzip - this time it did not recognise upgrade and would only allow a full install. I went ahead with install and it came up with lots of errors - I guess due to tables already existing? Tried a fresh install to new database - seemed ok - admin was there - changed configuration file to read old database - worked great in admin - blank pages for front end. Decided to go 3.3.0 upgrade - uploaded files - recognised upgrade from 3.2.0 to 3.3.0 - clicked continue - finished very quick - prompted me to delete install folder - checked but it was not on server (self-deleting?) - clicked to go to admin area and it reverts back to install step 2 but highlights New Install - no choice to select anything else. What am I doing wrong? Note - The install goes to EULA - I click on 'I Agree' and it starts the install step 2 all over again - this time with error messages as the database already exists! Thanks

I use PlanetDomains. They are not the cheapest but they have worked well for me. I tend to sell domains as part of the design and hosting package. Regards David
