403 error while replying to a ticket on 5.2.9 version
demaier replied to demaier's topic in Using WHMCS
After going back and forth with HostGator it seem it was something on their side. Please see below the HostGator reply if interested: "I do see the 403 errors being reported, though I cannot replicate the results when loading them using a temporary password. However, I did see that you were hitting a common ModSecurity rule that we have in place. (...) Please try again as I believe the security rule is the root cause of this issue and rule 1234234 is one that we have to commonly whitelist." I have tried again with one user and I WAS able to send the reply. So I believe this issue is not a WHMCS issue. Sorry folks. -
Deleting Invoices doesn't remove Invoice Items.
demaier replied to martynnorman's topic in Using WHMCS
I reported this a long long time ago to Matt, probably more than 4 years ago and apparently nothing was done and since then I tried to always delete the invoice items before actually deleting the invoice. At the time WHMCS support mentioned that the table should hold enough items and that I should not be worried. Go figure. That is totally leaving trash behind in the database and giving chance for future issues like the one you mentioned here. "Listen to your customers" always works! -
I put in a ticket for this but, heads up everyone..
demaier replied to WebJIVE's topic in Troubleshooting Issues
I am not sure if this could be related but I am assuming there is an error with parsing (http://) links on WHMCS support ticket system replies and they may be using similar engine or core files that are broken and are also breaking the stuff mentioned here. Please refer to: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?80271-403-error-while-replying-to-a-ticket-on-5-2-9-version -
I just updated our WHMCS to 5.2.9 and we are experiencing an 403 error if we use "http://" in any reply to our customers. It is giving us 403 error when the message you are typing contains http://domain.com! May be this is a link parsing issue with WHMCS ticket system now? Please help!

It hasn't been tested on 5.1.2 but it should work as legacy module. It is possible to use this module for more than one free product, you must select your products with CTRL (Windows) or COMMAND (Mac) but you can't set different periods for each. Therefore you can edit the code yourself and personalize it. Regards, Daniel Maier

Yep you need to set the permissions, read the txt included, all information on how to install and use should be there. If not there, re-download it or install it manually. You're welcome.
-
Never seen that happening. Can you make a screenshot?
-
You can find instructions on how to use/install it on the txt within the module.

This feature is not available but you can develop it editing and implementing it on the actual code if you know coding. I will not be implementing this sort of feature. If you do so, respect the Open Source Culture and share it with us Good luck buddy.

Glad you liked it.

Sorry for the delay, I have been busy. I just uploaded the reviewed version of this addon to the WHMCS App Store. As soon the WHMCS staff accepts it you can download the new version 2.1. Addon URL at WHMCS App Store: http://www.whmcs.com/members/communityaddons.php?action=viewmod&id=167 Enjoy!

I contacted the WHMCS support to figure out how can I update the current version on the community addons and they didn't answer me yet. I will post it on my website and I will post the link here as well.

Hi folks, I have this module but it still in the legacy format. I tried migrating to the new standard but it is too complicated for me. I don't know how to call the PHP code within the array that the new addon system requires. I also have updated this module, here is the change log: - Added two extra reminders and a final notice (for notifying termination); - Added the ability to send the reminders even if the account is set to "suspended" in case for some reason you manually suspended it before the free trial period expires (special circumstances); - Added automatic suspension upon free trial final notice is sent. So when the client is notified that his/her account has been cancelled (added to the cancellation list on WHMCS) it also suspends the account. Yes, it will be terminated by WHMCS automated routine anyway when the cron job runs, but if you decide to give some extra grace days to your 30-day free trial, you will keep the client's account alive for a few more days (but suspended since the 30-day period has expired). You can set your "30-day free trial period" for example to 33 days and in the 30th day the client will get the final notice alerting that the account was cancelled (in fact suspended only) and in the 33th day the account is added to the cancellation list to be terminated by the WHMCS automated routine (if configured to do so). This trick will pretty much tell the client after 30 days that his account was cancelled when in fact was not. You are actually giving a few more days in the background of your period. This may sound weird since it might discourage the client (since he or she thinks his account was cancelled) but I have experienced many situations where the client during the extra grace period contact me asking to reactivate the account and luckily I have kept for couple more days. This is totally optional and you can just keep your 30-day period set to 30 days and don't give any grace period on top of the 30 days. The account will be suspended upon final notice is sent and will be terminated upon WHMCS automated routine is ran. IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO MIGRATE THIS ADDON TO THE NEW ADDON SYSTEM, COULD YOU PLEASE HELP US? If anybody still want to use this legacy version I have it updated and I also created a file that will create the table on the database and allow you to use it in the legacy format.

I just made a new version of this module addon featuring the following: - Added two extra reminders and a final notice (for noticing termination). - Added the ability to send the reminders even if the account is set to "suspended" in case for some reason you manually suspend it before the free trial accounts expires. - Added automatic suspension upon free trial expiration instead only termination. So you can choose in between both options following the details below: Opting in manually terminating the free trial accounts you must deactivate the "Cancellation Requests" option in "Miscellaneous" (and maybe also "Enable Termination" option in "Automatic Module Functions") in "Setup > Automation Settings" in your WHMCS settings. For more information on "Automation Settings" see <http://wiki.whmcs.com/Automation_Settings> This feature is often used in case you want to send the reminders and the final notice but manually give a grace period for possible clients that for some reason could not get to upgrade their accounts in time, so the client will get the final notice alerting that the account was terminated but in fact it was just automatically suspended and it is up to you when you wish to terminate it (useful in small hosting business). If you don't want this feature just leave the WHMCS automation settings untouched and don't set a final notice template or cron job for it. The free trial accounts will be normally terminated upon expiration. If anybody interested let me know... it is free!
