haaser
I was just wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on my website. I have been a webhost for awhile and I have just relied on word of mouth to get websites from my local community. I would like to extend my reach and attract some customers from the web. I tried running some google adwords for 2 weeks and recevied around 100 clicks but no sign ups. I was curious if I am doing something wrong that is not attacting customers. My Website is http://www.lnxhosting.ca
toddimus
If you don't know what you're doing with adwords, you can really end up wasting a lot of money. Even if you do know what you're doing, you can still waste a decent amount of money simply because this market is so saturated. Best thing to do is to find a niche market in the hosting industry, get on forums, be helpful, and do seo with high KEI keywords associated with your niche market.

Jamie Harrop
Any suggestions on what forums to browse. WebHostingTalk might be a good place to start. http://www.webhostingtalk.com On your Web site, you might like to try telling prospects what sets you apart from your competitors. At the moment, all I see when I first go to your Web site is you telling me what you sell. You don't actually give me a reason to become a customer. You don't tell me why I should sign up with you, and not the host down the road. At the end of the day, we're not in the business of selling Web hosting. We're all in the business of selling solutions. Customers want to buy solutions to problems, but right now, the solutions you can provide are hidden behind lots of Web hosting jargon. When we get down to the root of what customers what, it isn't Web hosting. It's a solution to a problem. We need to remember that when developing our Web sites and all our other marketing material. Hope that helps! Jamie

I would like to add people don't like doing business with "company's" they like doing business with other people. Start building relationships with people, let them get to know you, if they like you and if they see you as a expert in what you do, they will want to do business with you. Good luck to you.
