I know this is an old thread, but since it I had the same error and solved it I thought I would share.

I got this same error when I inserted my authorize.net "Login ID" instead of my actual "API Login ID"

You can find it in your authorize.net page by going to:

Settings > API Login ID and Transaction Key > API Login ID: (your info)

You can also get the transaction key here too.

Hope this helps someone,

Scott
